Chapter 7

Abel:
I brushed my teeth, took a shower and threw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt before leaving out my room. I walked across the hall and knocked on the door to Liah's room.

"Liah? Are you up?"

I waited for a minute and didn't hear a response so I opened the door and saw that she wasn't in there.

I went downstairs and checked the living room, the kitchen and the dining room and I still couldn't find her.

"What the hell..." I mumbled to myself as I walked back into the kitchen. "Where the fuck did she go?"

I poured myself a cup of orange juice and leaned against the kitchen counter as I glanced out the back door and there was Liah. She was sitting next the side of the pool playing with Caesar.

I walked out the back doors and walked over to her.

"Good morning."

She smiled. "Good morning."

I sat on the side of the pool with her and Caesar licked the side of my face.

"Has he been being nice?" I asked. "He's usually kind of mean when he first meets someone."

"Nah, he's been super sweet." 

"Ooh good, that means he likes you."

"Well, I'm pretty good with dogs so I'm not surprised."

I laughed nervously . "So...um about last night...I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything...I didn't mean-"

"No, it's okay...I like you Abel but I thought we were just gonna be friends you know? Like you're still trying to work things out with Bella and I'm not exactly sure where my relationship with Trell lies and I think we could be really good friends but if we rush into something neither of us are ready for then we'll both just end up hurt and hating each other and I don't want that. I think it's best that we just stay friends and continue to help each other like we have been."

That was the purest shit I've ever heard from a girl. Usually it's all about sex, money, or what I can give to them but with her it was completely different.

"I understand."

"I hope you knowing that I just wanna be friends doesn't change anything..."

"No, no, no, you just wanna be friends and I respect that." I smiled and she smiled back at me. "So what time is your flight?"

"One."

"Damn, so you only gotta leave in a little bit."

"Yeah but maybe we can see each other again soon, once I finish my classes next week I'll be free for most of the summer."

"Ooh cool, then we-"

I heard chattering and laughter then a few seconds later I saw Lamar, Cash and Hawk coming around the side of the house and into the backyard.

"What's up bro?" Cash asked but his and everyone else's eyes were on Liah. "Who's your friend?"

"This is Myliah and Myliah this is the crew, well some of them."

She smiled as she tried to use her arms to hide her body. "Nice to meet you guys."

Lamar smiled back. "Nice to meet you too."

"Anyways...what are y'all doing here?"

"We came to talk to you about something confidential.."

"Ooh, well can you come back later? Like after two?"
