Abel:
Bella and I had been going to therapy for a few months and things were actually getting better. We spent less time arguing and more time talking things out. We went out on dates every week even if it was something small like just going to get ice cream. Things were starting to feel like when we first started dating and I was actually falling back into love with her.But I still miss Liah. Since she blocked me on instagram, I've been logging into Lamar's account just so I could catch glimpses of her.
Judging by her post over the months, she was dating that nigga Nick. She seemed really happy with him and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a little bit jealous.
I heard Bella say my name."Abel?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you ready?"
"Yeah, let me get my keys."
I walked into the kitchen to grab the keys to my car and Ms.Violet shook her head as she looked at me.
"Why are you looking at me like that? What did I do?"
"It's not what you did, it's what you're about to do." She held up a small red cartier box. "I found this in the spice cabinet. It was a nice hiding spot considering she'd never look there."
I sighed heavily. "Ms.Violet, I-"
"You should not be marrying that girl Abel."
"But I love her..."
She shook her head and slid the box across the counter to me.
"This is a mistake. A girl like her is gonna do nothing but drain you physically, mentally and financially until you have nothing left."
"That's not true."
"It is. When you two first came back here I witnessed it myself. She was draining you and you were too naive to realize it. You always looked so tired and kept getting those headaches. It was because of her."
"But since we started therapy everything's been getting better."
She sighed. "I'm not gonna tell you what to do Abel but I will tell you I don't think this is a good idea."
"I'm-"
"Abel?!" Bella called from the living room. "Where'd you go?!"
"Here I come!"
I grabbed my keys and put the ring box in my jacket pocket before walking back into the living room.
We went out to the garage and got into the mulsanne.
On our way to the restaurant, I didn't talk much. I was too occupied thinking about what Ms.Violet said. Maybe I should wait a little longer, or maybe I just shouldn't propose at all.
When we got there a hostess seated us at a table in the back and bought us a bottle of red wine.
She asked. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I don't know, you just seem a little off."
"Ooh, I just got some stuff on my mind."
"Is it about the album? I know that's been stressing you lately."
"Yeah. I'm just having a hard time writing."
"Do you know why?"
"No, I'm not gonna force it though. I'll start writing again once I get the inspiration."
The waitress came back to take our orders and bring us some more wine.
We talked about my album a little bit more then Bella started talking about how she had to go back to New York for a few days for something.
