Warnings: none
You were walking back from the kitchen, snack in hand, to the couch you claimed earlier, your blankets and books all over it, when you felt something on your leg.
You didn't think anything of it at first, but once you sat down you felt it again, and this time looked at your leg to a see a green snake with gold markings slither on up it to the point where it was now on you arm.
"Oh well hi there snakey," you said happily picking up the snake and admiring it.
"Where did you come from?" The snake only hisses in response and stuck a forked tongue out to give you a lick on the cheek. You giggled at the gesture and placed the snake around your neck.
"I like you snake, so I guess I'll keep you," you told it getting a (happy?) hiss in response. Then came the question of what to name your new scaly companion. Your best friend, who you certainly didn't have a crush on that would be madness, reminded you a lot of the snake because they both liked green and gold and Loki just kind of reminded you of a snake for some reason.
"I'll name you Loki because you remind me of him and because I really like him and his name," you informed your snake friend who gave you another lick on the cheek and a hiss, apparently very much liking the name.
"Speaking of I wonder where he is I miss him and haven't seen much of him lately," you murmured sadly, not having seen Loki because him and Thor left for Asgard for an important matter a week ago.
In response to your sadness at the absence of your dear 'friend' the snake hissed and wrapped around your neck in a feeble attempt at a hug. It then raised its self so it was eye level and gave you a lick on the top of your nose making you giggle.
"Jeez your pretty smart for a snake but thanks for trying to make me feel better," you told it using your pointer finger to pat 'Loki's scaly head. After about ten minutes of you reading while 'Loki' chilled around your neck, occasionally giving you licks on the cheek (this is a really affectionate snake am I right), Thor entered the room immediately causing you to drop the book in your hand and run over to him.
"Thor you're back! Is Loki back too?" You asked hopefully. Thor smiled at your eagerness to see his brother. He never thought anyone, especially a midgardian, would ever acquire feelings for Loki and he was glad that someone had; especially you because Thor loved you like a sister. Hopefully one day a sister in law, for he was very cognizant to how Loki felt about you.
"Yes he was just with me about fifteen minutes ago I don't know where he ran off to-" Thor was saying when he spotted the oddly familiar looking snake that seemed to be glowering at him.
"Hey (Y/N) when did you get a snake?" You smiled at your new pal and gave him a pat.
"Oh just like ten minutes ago, I kinda just saw him on my leg and made him my pet I guess; he's really sweet I even named him Loki."
At the mention of what you named the 'snake' Thor bursted out laughing much to your confusion and the snakes annoyance.
"Lady (Y/N), I hate to break it to you, but-" Thor was going to tell you the snake was indeed the trickster himself, when the snake violently hissed causing him to become silent.
"That is a wonderful pet you have obtained, please treat it carefully and make sure it is cared for," Thor told you fondly and then walked out of the room.
"Well okay that was weird," you said to yourself upon Thor's absence. Sighing, you picked up your abandoned book and headed to your room to wait for Loki, the snake still snuggly around your neck.
Once you lied down on your bed, you began to feel drowsy. You shut your eyes and fell into a light sleep. You awoke very soon after upon feeling a dip in your mattress and a soft kiss being placed on your cheek followed by gentle caressing.
Opening your eyes, you see the snake now gone and Loki smiling gently at you, a look of love and amusement in his blue eyes.
"Hi, love," he spoke softly, still caressing your now flushed cheek.
"H-Hi," you greeted back shakily.
"You were the snake this whole time correct?" You asked mentally face palming at your stupidity."That's correct; I'm sorry I didn't mean to deceive you I was just merely playing around," he confessed an amused smirk on his lips.
"It's fine I'm not upset, although I must say you were pretty affectionate for a snake you must have kissed me on the cheek a pretty decent amount of times which is not something most friends do," you joked although the statement caused Loki to halt in his movements nervousness now flooding his gorgeous features.
"Ah yes, about that, I was wondering if maybe you would possibly consider being more than friends?" He suggested nervously, not looking you in the eyes.
"Loki I would love nothing more." He smiled at you and leaned in to press a passionate kiss to your lips causing a moan to leave your mouth which you felt made him smirk into the kiss. You straddled his hips in order to deepen the kiss as your fingers soon entangled in his long, raven hair.
Soon the kiss softened and Loki reluctantly pulled away so you could have a moment to breath. You gave him another quick peck on the lips and then buried your head deep in his neck, pressing a couple tender kisses there making him smile and chuckle, the sound reverberating through you.
"By the way I missed you too (Y/N) very much," he told you pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
"Then promise you won't leave me again?" You asked looking into his pretty ocean eyes your hand still in his raven hued hair.
"Never again, my love," Loki promised pulling you flush against him sealing the promise with a love filled kiss.
