Warnings: a lot of angst y'all get ready

You sighed as you aimlessly wandered the halls of the Asgardian palace, Loki never far from your mind since his death on Svartalfheim. You were devastated when Thor returned, alone, and gave you the news.

You locked your self in his room for weeks never once leaving. The only time you left his bed was to retrieve food left for you outside the door.

You were both in a loving and happy relationship even though you had forgiven him for so much. For faking his death the first time he 'died', for his attack on Midgard, which you later learned it wasn't completely his fault and that he was being manipulated.

At first you had the thought that maybe he had faked his death again, but you were sure he would've told you by now, Loki wouldn't force you to suffer like this.

It has been three years since he died and you have mostly recovered. You still missed him dearly, however you weren't in as much pain as you were when you first heard of his passing.

Asgard was doing great too, although Odin was acting super strange. He built a statue for Loki and has been showing plays of his death for years. You could never watch one though because reliving his death made you want to cry.

He even treated you weirdly, always saying hello asking how you were. He even gave you gifts from time to time. You didn't question his actions and kind of just went with it in fear of being punished.

It was a nice day out and while you were walking around, you heard commotion over by where Odin held his plays so you decided to walk over and see what was happening.

You walked through the crowd while occasionally saying 'excuse me', until you reached the front only to see Thor holding Odin, his hammer coming towards both of them.

"Thor have you gone mad?!" You exclaimed, and before Thor could respond, 'Odin' yelled, "Alright I yield!"

The whole crowd gasped as instead of their king standing before them, it was Loki.
You felt tears gather in your eyes, words unable to leave your mouth.

Loki turned to you, pain and regret shining in his eyes as he began to approach you. "(Y/N)," he began, reaching for your hand, but you quickly retracted it from his grasp, moving away from him.

"How could you?" You whispered so your voice wouldn't crack from all the sadness and betrayal you felt. "I know you're angry at me and you have every right to be, but, please, hear me out," he begged, tears beginning to run down his cheeks.

"And why should I? Loki you have lied to me for three years. For three years I have had to suffer and mourn over your fake death. I loved you so much and apparently that didn't mean anything to you if all these years you could just go around parading as Odin without giving me any heads up that you were alive," you spat out angrily, any tears shed were only out of hurt and betrayal.

"Loved..." Loki said blankly not looking you in the eye.

"Pardon?"

"You said loved, past tensed, as if to say you no longer carry love for me."

You sighed shaking your head.

"Well you know what Loki, maybe I don't. I'm done forgiving you when all you ever do is hurt me like it doesn't even bother you."

"(Y/N) please, I know I don't deserve it I know I don't deserve you, but please just listen to me, let me explain. I love you so much more than anything in the nine realms, so if you would just let me-"

"Not this time Loki, I'm done," you said breathlessly before letting out a sob and running away from him and the murmuring crowd.

Loki felt his heart break as he watched your figure get further and further away from him as it sank in you would probably never forgive him. He really messed up this time and he really didn't know if he could fix it.
