Sarah's POV

Nyx has been missing for a while. After the banquet I was escorted to a private room. I was informed that it was connected to the King's bedroom and the bedroom designated for me. This whole sitting area was the size of my apartment. I haven't even looked inside my bedroom. The décor was quite modern meets winter wonderland. The coloring was a crystal white and ice blue, much like Nyx's eyes. The chandelier in the center was like a giant snowflake. It was beautiful. The floor was covered with white and glittering carpet that looked like snow.

I couldn't wear white in fear of leaving a stain, so this room was giving my anxiety a work out.

I gave up trying to get comfortable in this room and decided to explore the bedroom. I opened the door slowly.

The room was beautiful and bigger than the middle sitting area. The bed was large and had so many pillows in soft reds, greys, and whites. They looked so comfortable and fluffy. The soft grey nightstands by the bed were simple tables but they looked like they were made of vines. Books were placed on one side of the bed and red flowers were on the other. Hanging above the room were tiny lights that made the room sparkle. The floor was the same snow looking carpet from the other room. The lights above made the carpet look iridescent. The walls were a soft blue with the soft grey trim. There was a large window that looked out to a winter garden.

I was pleased to also find a modern bathroom adjoining the room. There was also a television facing a couch on the right side of the bed. This room was huge, but I felt at ease here.
I washed my hands before sitting down on the couch with a book from the nightstand. It was about a faery princess who saved her kingdom by going on a quest for her true love. It kept me captivated for a while.

Half way through the book, which was getting exciting, a knock on the sitting room door scared me. I dropped the book when I jumped up.

"Uh... come in!" I call out as I bend down to pick up the book. I hoped I didn't loose my place.

"I hope you were able to adjust to your quarters." The ever allusive Nyx appeared. He was dressed in white linen pants and a light blue linen shirt. They looked comfortable and warm. It was different seeing him like this. He looked normal. I mean, if you ignored the pointed ears, sharp teeth, copper scent, and uncanny blue eyes.

"Y-yes. The room is lovely. Thank you." I found my page and marked it before placing the book back on the night stand. "You've been gone for awhile."

"Yes I had something to attend to. I hope you didn't miss my presence too much." He smirked with his last sentence.

"I was able to entertain myself." I brushed off his comment. "What did you do?"

"There was a mess at the entrance, I needed to see to the clean up." He answered me in a nonchalant manner. Walking around the room.

I couldn't help but wonder if he went to harass Jareth.
I hope he's not looking for me.

"Anything I could help with?" I ask.

"Not at all. You are my guest." He sits himself on the couch where I had been sitting. "You are to simply enjoy the show."

"The show?"

"Yes. The one that old goblin is going to put on for us." He laughs loudly. "His efforts to get to me will be quite entertaining."

"You underestimate him." I feel offended slightly on behalf of "that old goblin". Which feels a but weird.

"No, my snowflake. You underestimate me." His look becomes heavy with something I couldn't place, but it made my insides burn.

"I think I may be overestimating you." I smirk and fold my arms. "All I've seen you do is threaten and party with you court. Your pretty words won't do anything. Remember, Prince, words mean nothing without action."

"You want action? My words aren't enough?" He stood and placed himself in front of me. I gasped in surprise at his proximity. His eyes were still loaded with the unknown and his smile sent shivers up my arms. "How's this then? Do you approve, my princess?"

His words were thick and heavy. His cold fingers tangled themselves in my hair and he guided my head to look up at him. Nyx leaned towards me. His icy breath feathered my lips. I couldn't breathe but I didn't struggle against him. My hands found their way on to his chest and gripped his shirt. He looked down at them and grinned, showing his predatory teeth. A lion has caught its dinner. When those eyes met mine I could feel myself shake from the cold heat I felt from him. I almost leaned closer when I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

I pushed Nyx away and took deep, stuttered breaths. I looked at the Fae and he was silently laughing.

"How was that for action, princess?" He moved towards the door to leave. "When I make my moves, you won't be able to handle them. I'd say prepare yourself, but even then, you won't stand a chance."

The laugh that followed chilled my bones. The amount of venom it carried was insurmountable.

I ran to the bathroom and locked myself in. The lock would not stop him if he wanted to come in, but it was for my comfort. I could use all the comfort I could get.

The reflection showed me that my lips had turned a slight shade of blue. He affected me, more than I'd like to admit. I need to figure out my move and fast. Jareth isn't the only one playing his game. We are both wrapped up in this now and I have a feeling we will need each other.

One thing I know for sure, as of now, I can't trust Nyx.
