Joe POV
The sun was beginning to set, I guess it was 5 pm at that time. I was sitting near the cliff of Serenity with my feet dangling off of it.
The breeze was light and the orange-red color in the sky was aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Spending time alone with nature is calming to me. Villagers say I'm an individual and sometimes they forget I live here.
It's because I don't talk with them much. I spend time with myself, not with animal villagers.
I don't hate them, but I think they're personalities are strange. Human villagers are different though. They have their own personalities, unlike animal villagers who have the same personalities.
Suddenly, I somehow felt the urge to drink something and decided to head to the Café.
Brewster was making coffee instead of someone I thought was going to.
I mean, he's the one who owns and works in this place, but there's one person who always helps him out.
I thought I was going to see him there, but he wasn't there. So I just sat there drinking my cup alone. It didn't feel right being alone this time because I was expecting to see someone, oh well.
He probably left to the island to catch bugs again. I gave up my introverted self for this moment but I guess not.
I never made friends with Tom to be honest, we're only acquaintances. Anna seem to always hang out with him, so I thought maybe I should try for myself. But according to now, it wasn't possible.
I headed home since that attempt failed. I wanted to talk to Anna but I already sent a letter to her. If I were to talk to her then, it would be too much. She would judge me for being weird.
Anna would receive my letter tomorrow. What would she think? The letter only asked if she wants to hang out with me again, but what if she says no?

~

Anna POV
I didn't see much villagers out at 5 for some reason. By "villagers", I mean human villagers. I know why Tom was gone, but not why Lily was. What if they were together? Hmmm... Anyways, Joe is probably here still. I didn't know if he wanted to hang out or anything, so I let him be.
At 6 pm, I was with Puddles. I was visiting her house because I was bored and didn't want to do anything.
We promised to shop together tomorrow too. In her house, we talked about girl stuff y'know.
"So what did you buy earlier without me?" She asked.
"I bought a pair of heart shades from GracieGrace," I replied.
   "Why?"
"Do you have to ask me that??"
"What's the problem? I'm just asking, I'm your bestie!" She exclaimed.
"Gasp! Maybe you're hiding something!" She yelled with the mischievous emoticon on.
"I bought that to impress someone," I shyly confessed.
Puddles gasped again and came closer to my face.
"Who is this someone?" She asked in a whisper.
"I'm not gonna tell you, this conversation is becoming too personal," I chickened out.
"I'm your friend~ I'm an idol! An idol who's your friend, so you should be glad that I'm your friend!" She whined. "So tell meeee~"
"Nah, you're a bigmouth Puddles, you'll spread it around like a rumor," I explained.
"You're so mean!~" She cried. "You don't trust me."
"Fine I'll tell you," I gave up, "but I'm only giving you hints."
   "Yay!" She cheered in joy.
"He's very confident, he always takes a dare."
   "Hmmm, Sparro?"
I made a comical face of disgust. Definitely not.
   "No, he's not a jock."
"Wow, harder than I thought," she said.
"Chops? The new villager who moved in?"
"What? Noooo," I countered. "I don't fall in love with people who are new, not that easily."
"Can you just tell me please," she gave up already.
   "You'll find out," I said.
   "Hmmph," she pouted.
I checked the clock on her wall, it was gonna be 7 soon.
"Okay, I gotta go Puddles, see you tomorrow!"
"That fast?!? You didn't tell me who it is!"
"I said you'll figure it out okay?"
"Fine."
I waved goodbye, left her house, and strayed to the town tree.
The tree resembles the town's growth. Lily planted it there when she became mayor.
I sat on the wall surrounding the tree. The magical music played when I sat there.
Whenever you sit here, you recap the events of the town. After all that reminiscing, I thought about what I said to Puddles.
Where I said I don't fall for new people. Add a little thought into it and it doesn't make sense. I fell for Tom though, he was new at that time. I lied to Puddles, ohmigosh. Oh well, she doesn't take things seriously, anyway.
I began to get lost in my thoughts when I closed my eyes. I eventually fell asleep there.

~

Joe POV
I took a really long nap for the whole hour at 6. I decided to go outside at 7 because I have to water the flowers so they won't get thirsty over night.
As I got to the Plaza, where the town tree was, I saw Anna.
I froze for a split second but I managed to hide behind a tree. I took a quick peek and realized she was asleep.
I didn't know what I was doing, but I approached her. She was sitting at the middle of the wall around the tree, so I sat on the left side.
The night was peaceful and quiet. The stars were shining bright. The weather feels just right. No wonder she fell asleep.
The wind hitting the town tree makes a slight breeze that has a satisfying feel. I wanted to fall asleep with her too, but I still had to water some flowers.
"Joe?"
I stiffened when I heard Anna wake up.
"What time is it now?" She asked in a worn out voice.
"I think it's 7:20 pm," I replied. Good thing I didn't stutter, I'd be so embarrassed, especially since it was Anna I was talking to.
"Oh, I must've been really tired because I fell asleep at late 6," she laughed nervously.
I didn't know what to say after that, so I stayed silent.
"What brings you here?" She asked.
"I was watering flowers," I tried to explain, "and I saw you asleep so I wanted to see if you were okay."
Anna stared at me for a while and started to laugh.
"You're so sweet Joe," she chuckled.
The compliment made my cheeks flush a pink color. Hopefully she didn't see my face in that way. It was dark, but we can still see each other.
"I'm fine though," she said smiling.
I nodded my head.
"I guess I should go now, I still have flowers to water," I said nervously.
She shook her head.
"You're really awkward," she commented, "you always find a way to leave a conversation do you?"
"I'm sorry.." I apologized .
"I'm joking," She laughed. "You need to do something, so it's okay."
She waved me goodbye and I left the Plaza to continue my business. We had a brief conversation, but it wasn't enough.
I wanted to talk with her longer, but I didn't know what to say. Why is communicating with people so complicated? These thoughts tire me out.

~

I was at the last flower when I saw Lily and Tom walking together.
They looked like they just came back from the island. They must have had a fun time together.
I wish Anna and I had some time to spend together. We do spend time with each other, but like I said: It's not enough. It's not enough to count as a special relationship. A relationship I want to experience.
