PERCY'S POV

Grover galloped ahead of me. "Keep up slowpoke!" he teased me. I blushed, ignoring the heat that rose to my cheeks. Why were my hands trembling? IT'S JUST GROVER! Maybe I was nervous about my quest... yeah.

"Yeah, I just got -- sidetracked," I rubbed my arm, hoping he wouldn't look back at me. "It's n-nothing," I bit my lip. Grover stopped, looking back at me. I winced as he eyed me, tilting his head.

"Tut tut!" he clicked his tongue, "stop getting sidetracked, and pay attention! You could trip and twist your ankle," Grover worried aloud. Percy secretly liked Grover worrying about him. He would never say that aloud. They were just friends.

"Y-Yeah, I'll be more careful," Grover nodded, eyes crossing. Like he was listening to something else. "Are you ok-"

"Yes," Grover laughed.

"Now who's getting sidetracked?"

...

GROVER'S POV

"What did I say? I told you to turn around. Don't be surprised if you two were to get -- lost," Grover shivered, ignoring Percy who decided to take the lead on the walking. Even though he had no idea where he was going. Grover thought it was kinda -- cute.

Just protector feelings, of course.

"Take a left up here," Grover sighed, it felt like they had been walking in circles. He was pretty positive they would exit the forest and get somewhere close to a town. Maybe they could take a bus to town --

"GROVER!" Percy screamed.

Oh no.
