PERCY'S POV

"We're going to play an icebreaker," my - I guess you could say - overseer, announced. I sighed, looking around my cabin. It as pretty clear which god matched with which kid. I could tell Clarisse was the daughter of Ares, also known as the god of war. She was always so rough with everyone, including me. It scared me how much she remembered her parent.

"Somone say their parent's name then something you know about them," I froze when my superior spoke. How did you talk about someone you knew nothing about? I didn't know who my godly parent was, let alone something to relate him with. Anabelle, one of the girls to my left started to talking. In horror, I realized I was next. I tried to think of something to say. I figured I'd just talk about my mother.

"She was killed," I whispered, Annabelle, shook her head.

"Talk about your godly parent," I sat in the silence of my awkwardness for a while.

"Oh," I looked down at my hands, hoping someone, anyone would save me. "I don't know who that is," my superior smiled, telling me some kids never know their parents. Well, that's not what I wanted to hear! After all of these "icebreakers", I met up secretly with Grover who looked a bit less happy then when I last saw him. I asked him what was wrong.

"Nothing, I'm just bored," Grover sighed, "I kinda wish we knew who your dad was," he sat down on a log which must have been struck by lightning. The log was charred which made me wonder how a lightning bolt would hit just this tree and send it crashing down.

"Same here," I sighed sitting next to him on the log. I ignored the who log scenario. Our legs accidentally bumped and I flinched away. Grover noticed, he just didn't say anything. I felt my heat flash coming back. Which was weird, it was almost dark out, how was I getting so hot?

I ignored the flames on my cheeks and paid attention to what Grover was saying. "Maybe we should go out and find him," Grover paused, "do something so amazing that he'll be begging to see you," I nodded but what would I do? How did you impress a god that didn't want to see you in the first place?

"I know!" I gasped, the idea hit me like lightning, "I'll get my mother back!"
