GROVER'S POV
Oh my Gods.
I just kissed Percy Jackson. While also confessing my feelings for him. Someone pinch me. I have to be dreaming. This is just another myth you hear about in lectures — right? Did this actually happen? I pull away from Percy's face and I almost cry from happiness when he frowns at my sudden actions."Let's go find your mom," I whisper. Because that's why we're actually out here. Not to make out in an alley way and get confused about our sexualities. We are here to save Percy's mother. So what, he can just leave you and move away with his mother? After this entire time he's still gonna leave us! A voice in the back of my head warned me. I ignored it. If Percy truly felt the way I felt I doubt he would leave me forever. I force a smile.
"Grover?" Percy whispers tugging on my shirt sleeve. Oh my Gods. This boy is too adorable. I look down at him. "What will happen to us once this quest is over? Will we just pretend nothing between us ever happened?" I felt my heart sink, is that what he wanted?
"I mean I won't pretend, but if you—"
"No! I like us, I like, this," he blushes, "I just don't know how to do any of this with a guy," he whispered, I could practically hear my heart beat out of my chest.
"Well me either, we can take it slow," I smiled for him. I didn't want to take it slow. I wanted to take him to the nearest hill and arrange a wedding. Or just a bunch of sappy old Greek rituals that didn't make sense in present time. Although being showered with fruits and nuts did sound delightful...
"Okay, I think we can do that," Percy smiled. "Now let's find my mom!" he said triumphantly. Like she would just fall from the sky if he screamed loud enough. I smiled.
"We have to go to a music shop to enter the Underworld," I stated. Percy nodded looking quite confused. "I don't know why the entrance is in a music shop, frankly I think it's an analogy for how fast songs can flop and become dead but whatever," I rambled. I was nervous. I needed to be on the lookout for any suspicious creatures, considering we were going to the Underworld we both needed
to keep our eyes peeled."Smart, so how do we get in?" Percy questioned.
"Front door I assume," I muttered earning me a snort and an eye roll from Percy. We walked through the front door, which made a loud ringing sound as we entered. As I looked around I noticed the shop looked like an old record store. There was records on every display in the store. There was only one women in the entire store and she was at the register.
"Hi!" I walked up to her Percy followed behind me, timid. "We'd like to go to the Underworld, please," she scowled at us, which wasn't too good of a sign.
"You don't look dead," she snorted, I glared at her.
"He's dead inside!" Percy piped up, "Does that count?" the lady glared at us both.
"If you can make it worth my whole maybe I can sneak you in," she tapped the tip jar next to the register. The jar was empty. Make sense no one wanted to tip her— she's rude!
Percy dug into his pocket to find our two drachmas that I totally forgot about. He placed the coins in the jar and the lady smiled. "Follow me," she ushered us to the back of the store. Percy linked arms with me, just in case things got freaky.
