01|Meeting

Serena's POV

I look at my phone to check the time, 6:45 am. I still have 15 minutes to make to the meeting. I glance outside my car's window as small figure catches my attention. 

I squint my eyes to see better from the sun's dreadful rays.

I watch as a little girl tugs her mother's hand and yells "mommy, mommy" to get her attention. 

Her mother looks down at her softly. The girl slowly brings a paper of some sort and gives it to her mother. Her mother takes a look at the paper, she gently laughs and says something to the girl. The little girl's nervousness suddenly vanishes and a bright smile plays on her lips. Her mother gently picks her up and kisses her softly on her forehead and the little girl bursts into fits of giggles.

I tilt my head slightly only for an image of my mother to appear in my head. I look away instantly, it's been a while since I thought about my mother. I'm quickly brought back to reality when I hear my phone ring. I check the caller ID only to see it's my business partner.

 I contemplate on whether to pick up the phone or not. I glance at the time once again, 6:50 am. He was definitely is going to be furious. He told me to come an hour before the meeting. 

After fighting with myself for a good minute I finally decide it's best to pick up the phone.

"Good Morning Kazimi, "I say in a low tone, in response I hear a grunt and some shuffling.

"Good morning, really, we have a business meeting in 10 minutes and you're still not here," he says in anger.

I breathe out slowly, "I will be there in 5 minutes Kazimi," I reply.

"Darling there already here, " he growls angrily.

Did this idiot, just growl at me? My anger rises up, I know it's my fault that I should have been there before our clients arrived but the meeting was at 7:00. I still had time to get to the office.

My anger gets the better of me.

 "Kazimi, what is supposed to do, jump off a bridge, I will be there in 2 minutes, goodbye," I respond harshly.

Before he can say anything I quickly cut the line. I tell my driver to hurry up, as I faintly curse about our stupid traffic. I take my file, and laptop out and continue working on my presentation. As I glance up I see my office building come to view and I breathe a sigh of relief. I get out of the car and rush inside.

 My secretary is quickly by my side as I make it to the meeting room. I walk inside, and immediately my eyes meet Kazimi's.

 He looks at me with fury, but quickly covers it up with a fake smile.

"Since my business partner is here shall we begin with the meeting?" Kazimi asks.

I look around the room and I smile flashing my pearly white teeth until my eyes meet with piercing blue ones.

I take in his entire appearance. My smile falters immediately. 

I have seen him somewhere, I just couldn't place it.

I rake my mind trying to find a way as to how I recognized him. I continue to stare at him, but our staring contest is interrupted as soon as I hear Kazimi clear his throat.

My eyes snap toward's Kazimi's direction as he slowly whispers towards me.

 "Make a good impression," he whispers. 

My eyebrows scrunch up in confusion, but I realize the man I was staring at, was right in front of me now.

"Good morning Ms. Williams, I am the CEO of Erlin Enterprise it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person, " the man says.
