Serena's POV

It's hilarious, my heart is telling me this was a mistake. It's telling me, I should not be here. But my mind has already been made up.

My mind has decided I need to finish some unfinished business. The past keeps running through my head. It's horrible. But once my mind sets on something there is no going back.

I am stronger than they think, I glance at Kazimi as he looks at me worriedly.

I am not weak, I am strong, and I am not letting my demons get me.

No one will see me vulnerable. I push down the pain and bottle it in the depths of my heart.

"Why are you staring at me Kazimi, let's get going," I grunt out and walk in front him with my luggage.

All that is running through my head is; I am back home.

I get in the car and the driver starts driving. "Are we staying in a hotel?" I ask Kazimi.

He looks at me for a moment, then answers "No".

Slowly he turns his head facing the window. I did not poke on the matter, I really don't care where we stay, I was facing way bigger problem. I slowly look out the window, the familiarity of the street dawns on me. It feels kind of surreal that I am here again.

Slowly my eyes flutter closed and I am swept off into a deep slumber.

"Serena wakes up" I hear as someone nudges my shoulder. I open my eyes to meet stormy gray ones. "You fell asleep," he says, and I simply nod. As I look out the window a huge mansion comes into view.

Where we staying here?

"Kazimi did you rent out a mansion," I ask in confusion. It would be quite expensive and we were only staying here for a couple months.

"No, I bought it, " he replies. My head snaps to his direction I glare at his back, this house is definitively expensive.

"Why?" I say. Instantly his eyes meet mine and a small smile appears "It's yours ".

I look at him blankly, the house is definitely beautiful, but we were only staying here for few months.

"When did you buy it? " I ask once again, I knew he was trying to distract me and I was not falling for it.

" I bought it and designed the interior after our agreement, " he replies blankly. I look at him dumbfounded what the hell, the agreement was two years ago, so why did he only gift the house to me now?

"Come, let's go inside, and don't think too much," he says . He probably saw the confused look on my face. I turn to face the house and slowly followed behind Kazimi.

A wave of curiosity hits me, I wonder how the house will look like in the inside.

As Kazimi opens the big doors I make my way inside, but I stop midway.

In front of me was a big portrait of a girl, she looked beautiful.

Just then it hit me like a ton of bricks, the girl was  me.

I instantly look around to see more pictures of me around the gigantic house. I turn around to face an anxious-looking Kazimi.

Before I can say anything he blurts out "I designed it, about three years ago, but after the huge mess up with the agreement I decided it wasn't the right time to give it to you".

Then he takes his luggage and climbs the stairs, leaving me dumbstruck.

I really didn't understand him. As I look around the house I slowly take in the beauty. It was everything I wanted when I was a younger girl. The pictures of me were quite shocking if I had to admit it, but it was different.

The pictures suited the house well. I understood why he didn't give the house to me now, the agreement was a huge mess, we had to go through a lot of stress that year.

I slowly explored the house until I stop at a huge door. I turned the knob, but it was locked. That's weird, why would the door be locked, I wondered. I try turning the knob once again, but it wouldn't budge.

"The doors locked ma'am, " I hear someone say. I quickly turn around and come face to face with a girl. She was short and was wearing some sort of uniform. I instantly glare at her for scaring me.

"Who are you?" I asked rudely. She was quite pretty, I must admit. Her hair was long, but put up in a ponytail. She had blue eyes with sharp features.

"I am the maid, ma'am, " she replies with a soft smile.

Why would Kazimi hire a maid?

As if she could read my mind, she says "Sir had hired me to care of the big house he didn't want extra responsibilities on both your shoulders".

I slowly nod my head and walk away from the big door. "Do you know where my room is? " I ask her. "Yes, I will guide you," she says.

As she blabbers about something I zone out and think as to why that door was locked. Did Kazimi not want me to go into the room, I ponder on that question until we come to a stop.

"This is your room ma'am, your bags are already here and sir's room is right across," she says. I nod at her as I walk inside and shut the door on her face. For some reason I didn't trust her, it bothered me that Kazimi hired her but I ignored it.

I was tired and I wanted to resume to my blissful sleep. I take a quick shower and crash into my bed. I decided to unpack later.

As I drift off I can hear my phone ring, but I ignore it. I want to go to my haven, my beautiful sleep. It was after all my only escape, it's where I can forget about everything and everyone.
