Serena's POV
I stare at the notebook in front of me, the anticipation was killing me. I slowly open the book. In neat writing, I see the book has been addressed to me. At least not everything that comes out of Abel's mouth is bullshit. I slowly turn to the next page and begin reading.
Dear Serena,
I don't know if I will ever tell you this, I don't even know if you will ever find this book. But I need to get this off my chest, I lied, I lied to you and everyone else. My name is not Aricus Mathews, my name is actually Dimitri Amersera. Aunt Lydia is not my actual aunt and Abel is not my real cousin. Everything was a lie. But one thing that was not a lie was my love for you, the moment my eyes landed on you I promised that I would do anything and everything in order to protect you till the day I die. I...
I couldn't bring myself to read anymore. My hand trembles as tears fall down. I hear slow footsteps coming my way. I instantly close the book, stuffing it in one of the cabinets. I wipe my tears away, taking deep breaths to calm my heartbeat.
There is a knock on the door.
"Come in, " I say in a low tone.
The maid opens the door and walks in.
"Sir has requested you to come downstairs for lunch," she says
"I'll be there in five minutes," I respond, shifting my gaze to the window.
She simply nods and turns around leaving me to my thoughts.
As I make my way downstairs I can hear Kazimi and the maid talking. My fist clenches immediately. I slowly creep up to the kitchen and am shocked to see the sight in front me. Kazimi's face was merely inches away from the maid's face. I wanted to barf I had lost my appetite.
I instantly turn away and make my back upstairs I was not going to eat now especially with them.

"You knew from the start didn't you," I ask Abel.
He nods in response.
"That's why you didn't get along with him at first," I say.
He just looks away.
"When my mother told me that my cousin was living with us, I didn't believe it, I knew he wasn't my cousin," he says
"Not only that, but he had eyes on you from the start," he murmurs.
I decided to ignore the last part, I didn't want to fight with him.
"Who do you think Aricus was?" I ask, particularly to no one.
Abel slowly turns around, looking at me he says, "I believe everything you need to know is in that book Serena."
"I tried reading it Abel, the first page was everything he was lying an I couldn't make myself read it anymore," I say exasperated.
"You have to, if the book wasn't addresses to you, I would read it, I know it has all the answers to all my question, the ball is in your court now," he says mutters the last part running his hand through his hair..
I sigh and simply nod, he was right the ball was in my court.

My mind replays every moment we had together, everything we said and did. Who was the man that was with me? What was he hiding? Why me?
I look at my phone and decide I need answers. I call the only person I know that can give it to me.
"Hey, Dylan I need your help," I say pacing around my room.
"Yes, how can I help," he says gruffly.
"I want you to look into who Dimitri Amersera is and give me as much of the information you can get," I say calmly.
I am going to figure out who he really was.

His hands grazed my lips as he brought me closer to him. My mind was completely fogged up. The only thing I can see was him. His other hand softly caressed my exposed skin as his face dips, making his lips come in contact with my neck. I breathe in sharply, letting out a soft whimper. Then all of a sudden I'm falling deeply in to nothingness, I see those same green eyes. I suddenly feel hands on my neck choking me as I cough uncontrollably and then I hear gunshots, those same gunshots go right through him.
My eyes fly open and I immediately get up and look around. I could feel the sweat dripping from my head. I take deep breaths to calm my heart down. I was still in my room. I stumble out of my room and rush to Kazimi's room to see if he was okay.
I slowly creak open the door to see him sleeping peacefully. Instantly relief spreads through me. He was fine. I walk over to his bed and open his covers sliding next to him. I watch as his chest rises up and down.
I think about my dream, I wasn't scared, no, I was horrified because Kazimi was the one kissing me and he was the one who got shot.
