Serena's POV
I made my way up the stairs. Letting out a deep breath, I smile, the place hasn't changed. I slowly knock on the door and wait patiently.
Slowly the door opens, revealing the side of a woman's face. I stare at her in pain. Her once youthful and energetic glow had disappeared.
"How may I help you," she say's in a low tone.
I scan her face once again. Her eyes held such a dull expression. Oh, why did I do this, I think to myself. She looked so weak and frail.
"Aunt Lydia, it's me, Serena," I say in a whisper.
Her eyes widen as she processes the information. In a second the door is open wide and her small hands wrap around me. She hugs me tightly and I bring myself to wrap my hands around her. This type of human interaction felt so foreign to me.
I slowly unwrapped my arms around her as she lets go of me.
"Come on in, honey," she says while dragging me inside.
I smell the familiar scent and take a seat on the sofa.
" You've grown up to be so beautiful... Where have you've been all this time," she says as tears etch her eyes.
I quickly grab hold of her hands.
"I am so sorry aunty but you know I had to leave," I reply heartbroken
She sniffles trying to bite back her tears.
"I know, but I wish I could have seen you before you left, the only thing I was left with was a letter," she replies.
I look away, I know it must have hurt her so much for her to know that I left without a word.
"Its okay aunty, I am back now and I am a fine now," I say, trying to distract her from the past.
She smiles at me "I know you won't let your life go to waste, my child, you always had a fire within you to succeed in life," she say's.
I look at the woman in front of me and I instantly hug her. She was one of the only people to actually believe in me, to know that I would do something great in life.
"Aunt Lydia, Thank You."
"For what child?"
"For, everything."
I take an envelope and hand it over.
"This is just some money to help you out, I don't know how everything is now, but this is something I wanted to do."
Tears slowly flow down her face. I instantly worry, did I do something wrong?
Her arms enveloped me in a hug.
"Thank You, my sweet child, I envy your mother greatly, I wish you were in my womb instead of hers" she says.
"I smile at her, aunt Lydia you will always be like a mother," I say slowly chuckling. Little does she know my mother would rather have never had me as her daughter.
Slowly the rain starts pouring. I look up at the sky and smile.

I sit on the couch while typing away on my laptop. I was filled with energy and the smile on my face was not disappearing. To top it off, my maid kept on giving me weird looks.
"Why are you smiling like that" I hear Kazimi says.
I turn around completely in order to face him.
"Smiling like, what," I asked innocently
"Like that," he says, pointing at me.
"Oh, it's nothing I was just out with a special someone" I reply proceeding with my work.
From the corner of my eyes, I can see his eyebrows scrunch up and an angry expression replaces his face.
He quickly turns around only to hear the doorbell ring.
We quickly look at each other.
Who was visiting us now?
I slowly make my way to the door with Kazimi trailing behind me. I open the door and right in front of me stands my family, along with Dominic's.
What the Fuck was going on?
