THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL finally came to an end and soon I'm bouncing out the doors. The day went by in the usual fashion, Kyle being stupid as usual, me designing my math notebook with doodles of all kinds of dinosaurs, Hot Troy being the golden student and answering questions in math class and last but not the least, me rushing to leave the four walls of hell they call Mountain High.

I went over to my car to wait for my asshole of a brother. It's already bad that our parents decided to let us share a car but what's worse is that he never wants to leave school every day. I should have paid more attention to learning how to drive.

"Hey Leah!" a familiar voice called behind me and I rolled my eyes. Could this day not pass peacefully without threatening me to commit homicide?

"Cole!" I plastered my most convincing smile as I turned to the dark haired boy smiling sheepishly at me.

"I thought you didn't come to school. How are you?"

"Well I did!" I replied with faux enthusiasm, it was all I could do to keep from yelling at him that I was not fine.

"Yeah, how was your holiday?"

Really? I'm so not doing this! Where's Andrea when I needed her? "Fine, yours?"

He went into details of how he spent the summer, making sure to emphasize that he didn't hook up with any girl, which I don't care about. I bobbled my head as if I was listening to him, giving oohs and aahs where necessary and then my savior began to make her way towards us.

Oh, thank goodness!

"Leah?" Andrea called and as soon as Cole saw her, he made an excuse to escape.

"Thank you very much" I said to her.

"You're welcome" she winked at me.

"Remind me never to stand up for anyone ever again." she laughed as I said that.

"Poor boy, it's funny how you have someone who's head over heels in love with you and you're pining on Troy."

I scoffed. "Oh please. Because I defended him from bullies in fourth grade didn't mean we should end up together!"

"Your life." she placed air kisses on either side of my face before running off to her car.

My stupid brother then decided that it was time to show up. "If you don't wipe that stupid grin off your face, I'll make sure your ass swallows it."
