Chapter 11 - A Helping Hand

"No... No! Stop. Just think about this yeah? Nobody here wants to hurt you" Taylor said calmly.
"No... leave ME ALONE!!" The guy shouts, before pushing Taylor to the floor and running away.
"Is everyone okay?" Taylor asked, as she dragged herself up off the floor. Everyone was shaking slightly and were obviously scared, but all nodded their head.
"It's okay...I work with the Intelligence unit. They're on their way okay?" Taylor said, slightly clutching her side as she had hit on the way down.

Soon enough the intelligence unit had arrived, and Taylor was surprised when Mouse leaped from Jays truck and came running towards her. He was wearing a vest and was obviously relieved when he saw Taylor.
"Are you okay?" He asked, placing his hands-on Taylor's cheeks.
"I'm okay..." Taylor said shakily, before Mouse pulled her in for a hug, causing Taylor to groan slightly.
"What wrong?" Mouse asked concerned, pulling away.
"It's nothing...the guy pushed me out of the way that's all. I just hit my side" Taylor says, as Jay walks over to the couple.
"Let me see..." Mouse said, making Taylor raise her shirt to reveal a big bruise that she had over her right set of ribs.
"You need to get checked out. Come on...I'll take you to see Will he's working today" Jay said. Taylor nodded and followed Mouse back over to Jays truck.

Jay drives Taylor and Mouse to Chicago med where she gets checked out by Will. He examines her and having sent her for an x-ray, tells her that her ribs are just badly bruised. Will gave Taylor some pain meds and discharged her, so the three of them headed back to the district where the others were now putting all the information that they had, into a case.
"You okay?" Voight asks, once he see the three make their way into the bull pen.
"Yeah... what do we know?" Taylor asks, leaning on her desk as Mouse sits behind his to pull any information that he can.
"Well, we know that our perp – Raymond Charles – is 32 and has priors. He been in for DUI's, burglary, car theft and possession multiple times- "Antonio starts to say, but Mouse cuts him off.
"Ermm, Sarge. You may want to look at this" He says, turning the computer screen around.
"I thought the name rung a bell. It popped up on something I was looking at yesterday. The FBI are working a case where 5 victims were found dead in their homes. They had been beaten and stabbed multiple times as well as that they had morphine in their systems. Raymond Charles is one of their lead suspects and has been missing/wanted for the past 10 hours" Mouse says.
"That gives him enough time to travel from Ohio" Ruzek says.
"I'll call them in." Voight says before walking away into his office. 10 minutes later he returns.
"The FBI's lead team in on their way. They should be here within 2 hours as they're coming from Ohio" Voight says.
"Until then, Mouse dig up anything you can on this guy. Try to find him on security cams. Trains, buses, planes anything. Jay, Erin, Ruzek & Atwater, I want you to go out on drive abouts until they arrive. Look out for anything suspicious around the local hand out areas" Voight said.
"Everyone else, keep digging" Voight then walked into his office. Everyone else gets to work.

1.5 hours later >>>
"Hey, I'll be back in a minute. I need to speak to Platt" Taylor says, getting up.
"Okay" Mouse says, giving her a smile before turning back to face his computer screen. Taylor slowly makes her way downstairs, only now realising that she's due more pain meds. Holding her ribs slightly, Taylor makes her way over to the front desk where Trudy Platt is sat.
"Hey Sarge. Have you got that form you wanted me to fill put?" Taylor asks, as Platt had spoken to her yesterday to tell her that there was one form missing from Taylor's file.
"Yeah, here" Platt says handing it over with a pen. Taylor starts to fill it in. When she gets near the end, a group of people all carrying bags, walk into the district and over to the desk.
"Hi, can I help you?" Platt says, turning to face them.
"I'm Agent Hotchner. We're here to see Sargent Voight" The lead guy says.
"Oh, you must be the FBI team. I'm Taylor – one of the technicians. Let me just sign this, then then I'll take you up" Taylor says politely, before turning to quickly sign the form. She hands it back to Platt.
"Follow me" She says with a smile, walking up the stairs. Taylor types in her code and places her hand in the scanner making the cage buzz open. She holds it open for the team before leading them up to the bull pen.
"Guys, this is the FBI team." Taylor says, grabbing everyone's attention.
"This is Detectives Dawson, Lindsay, Halstead, Ruzek, Atwater, Olinsky. Our other technician Mouse and that's Sargent Voight" Taylor says, pointing everyone out.
"Nice to meet you all. This is agents, Jereau, Morgan, Rossi and Prentiss. Dr Reid and I'm Unit leader Aaron Hotchner." The lead guy – who was now named – said. The two teams greet each other before going through everything they have so far.

After 30 minutes, they 2 teams have created a plan of action and have split into small groups to go off and try to find out what they can. Mouse and Taylor have been working alongside Garcia who is the technician for the FBI unit. She's back at their headquarters in Quantico.
"I'm gunna pop out Sarge if you don't mind. I need to grab my script for pain meds that will gave me" Taylor says, knocking on the door to Voight's office where he and Hotchner were deep in conversation.
"Okay" Voight says.
"JJ can take you" Hotchner says, before getting up to tell agent Jereau. Taylor nods her head and grabs her coat before making her way out with JJ to the car. The both get inside and once Taylor has told JJ where to go, they start the 10-minute drive to the near-by drug store.
"So, I heard you had a run in with our perp this morning?" JJ questioned.
"Yeah. I was on my way to store around the corner to grab some breakfast and he was there. I talked him down away from people, but he ran off, shoving me to the floor in the process" Taylor explains.
"Oh, you're okay though?" JJ asks.
"Yeah, just have some bruised ribs. Hence the pain meds" Taylor says, as they pull up outside. Taylor quickly runs inside and grabs what she needs before running back outside to the rental SVU that the FBI have hired. They make their way back, making the occasional chit-chat on the way.
"Hey, you know it can't have been- " JJ starts to say, only to be cut off when a car comes smashing into theirs. JJ was unconscious, and Taylor was dazed and when someone opened Taylor's door, Taylor became more alert.
"What- " Taylor starts to say, only to look up and see who is dragging her from the car. She tries to fight and resist his grip, but he's too strong.
"JJ!" She screams, hoping the agent would hear her.
"JJ!" She screamed again, this time seeing movement from inside the car. By now the guy who had grabbed Taylor – their perp Raymond Charles – had shoved Taylor into the boot of his car and was trying to close it.
"JJ!" Taylor manages to shout again, before Raymond shuts the boot and runs around the to the drivers. He speeds away just as JJ manages to free herself from the wreckage of the car. She looks at the plate before calling Hotch.
"Yeah" Hotchner says as he picks up the phone.
"We have a problem. Someone rammed our car. Hotch it was our perp and he took Taylor" Upon hearing this, Hotch tells JJ to stay put as he and the others are on their way.

Within minutes, 3 SUV's pulls up at the scene. JJ – who is now siting in the back of an ambulance, gets up and makes her way over to everyone.
"Are you okay?" Reid asks his colleague, noticing the dressing on her head.
"I'm okay...we need to find her" JJ says.
"I got a partial plate" She says, before telling it to Jay who then sends it to Mouse.
"I'm so sorry..." JJ says, facing the intelligence team.
"Hey, it's not your fault, you were knocked out. I'm sure you tried everything you could. We'll get her back" Hotch says to JJ, but he turned to everyone else for the last part. Everyone nods in response before they make their way back to the district to work every lead they have. Until now, Mouse didn't know that Taylor was missing, he only knew that the team had a lead. When everyone arrived back at the district, Jay, JJ & Hotch went to find Mouse who was in the garage, whilst everyone else went upstairs.
"Mouse..." Jay says to his friends, gaining his attention.
"Yo..." Mouse responds, as he pushed his wheelie chair backwards. He turns to face everyone, and his smiles disappears when he sees JJ. He instantly stands up.
"Where's Taylor?" He asks concerned.
"Mouse..." Jay tries to be soft as he lets out a hint to Mouse.
"Where is she?" Mouse asks this time a lot quieter.
"Mouse, Raymond Charles, took Taylor" Hotch says, when he sees Jay struggling to answer.
"What?" Mouse whispers, trying to say composed.
"We'll get her back" JJ says, rubbing Mouse's arm. He nods his head. After Hotch fills Mouse in on what happened, the four make their way back upstairs to the others.

Meanwhile across town >>>
"What do you want from me?" Taylor asks, as she struggles against the chain that are holding her wrists tightly above her head.
"Oh, I just want to have some fun..." Raymond grins, as he picks up a knife from the table.
"Why me?" Taylors asks as her eyes become watery.
"You tried to stop me..." Raymond says, moving towards Taylor. As Taylor struggles, he carefully and lightly slashes the knife against Taylor's arm, causing her to cry out in pain. Raymond put the knife down and left the room, leaving Taylor all by herself. Being close friends with cops and dating an ex-ranger, Taylor thought before reaching into her hair where she pulled out a bobby pin. She carefully moved it into the lock and wiggled it around. A few minutes later, the lock clicked before it opened and released Taylor's hand. She sighed with relief as she released her other hand. Now, she had to find a way out.

Back at the 21st District >>>
"I have something" Garcia said over the phone.
"What is it Garcia?" Hotch asked, as he moved over to the phone that was in Morgan's hand.
"Raymond Harris had a half brother who went by a different last name – Elliot Moore – who lived and worked in Chicago"
"What do you mean did?" Emily asked.
"He was shot and killed in a bank robbery, 2 years. He had a factory that his company worked out of, but it went bust a year after he died. The factory is now vacant" Garcia says.
"Right, gear up! Send us the location!" Voight says, as everyone rushes to grab their vests before running to the car.
"Sarge..." Mouse says pleadingly.
"He can ride with me" Hotch says. Voight nods and hands Mouse the spare vest. Mouse runs out with Voight and Hotch. Once receiving the location, the FBI let the intelligence unit lead the way to the factory. When they all arrive, they split up to cover all the exits. Once everyone is in position, they all bust inside. Mouse nervously sits waiting in the car, with Garcia on the phone who insisted she stayed on the line to keep Mouse calm.

Splitting up inside the building, the team work their way through the building until they hear a noise. They all run towards it and find Raymond holding Taylor in a headlock with a knife to her throat. Jay is the first person, Taylor makes eye contact with, he nods to tell her this will all be over soon. Taylor is shaking.
"Leave me alone!" Raymond shouts.
"We can't do that" Hotch says, as he steps forward, making Raymond step back. Raymond starts to move around a lot.
"Just shoot him?" Taylor screams.
"Shut up!" Raymond says, jerking her head further to the side. Taylor is sobbing. Everyone stands in front of them with their guns raised, all except one.
"Where's Morgan?" Emily asks Rossi. He looks around before shaking his head. They try to talk to Raymond, only making him angrier when they see something that makes them stop. Morgan. He slowly and quietly walking up behind Raymond and Taylor.
"Drop the knife" Morgan says, holding his gun to Raymond's head. Raymond stiffens and slowly does as he's told. Once free Taylor runs towards Jay who is nearest to her.
"Are you okay?" He asks, taking off his hoodie and putting it around her.
"I'm okay..." Taylor says.
"I'm okay..." She mutters again, as if trying to reassure herself as well. JJ and Jay lead Taylor outside where they have an ambulance The second Mouse see's her he runs over to her and pulls her carefully into his arms.
"Are you okay?" He asked, not letting her go.
"Yeah..." Taylor says, wincing a little.
"Come on..." Mouse says, leading her over to the awaiting ambulance. The paramedics decided that Taylor should get checked out at the hospital.
"One second" Taylor said, walking over to the FBI team.
"Thank you..." She says, before hugging each and everyone of the. They say their goodbye's before Taylor gets back into the ambulance with Mouse and they leave for the hospital.

Back at the District a few Hours Later >>>
"Thank you for your help today..." Jay says, walking over to shake Hotch's hand.
"Not a problem...we all know how it can be when it gets personal" Hotch responds, glancing between his team and the intelligence unit.
"I'll show you out" Jay says, leading the way. He walks them outside of the district and to their cars.
"I know we've said it before but, thank you. Taylor's like a crazy little sister to me..." Jay says quietly. JJ walks over to him and gives him a hug, followed by Emily before they get into their SVU's a drive away, heading back to the airport where they'll get take their private jet back to Quantico. Jay takes a minute before walking back inside and up to his desk. His phone pings in his pocket so he gets it out and looks at it.
"Taylor's okay. She out of the hospital. She has a concussion and some bruising but she's okay." Jay says, leaning on his desk as he reads out the text that Mouse had sent him.
"That's great! Now who's up for Molly's?" Ruzek asks, gaining the attention of the unit. Most responded with a yes.
"Jay, Erin?" Ruzek questions the couple. Jay and Erin glance at each other.
"Nah man, not tonight. We're going home" Jay says, patting Ruzek on the back before he follows Erin out to the car. Everyone else from Intelligence heads to Molly's whilst Erin and Jay head home. They stop to pick up a couple pizza's and bear on the way, before sitting down with Mouse and Taylor to watch a movie, both couples snuggled together on the 2 couches in Mouse and Jay's apartment.
