I had let Terra leave, knowing she would need time to herself, to process.

Gemma had moved from under my feet to the front door, scratching at the wood and whining.

"Gemma, she'll be back!" I soothed the dog as I continued to read the paperwork Terra had taken off me earlier.

I couldn't figure it out. It had the first three months of her income, profits and her spending.

There were copies of receipts. Her rental payments, electricity, gas, and even invoices from builders. Everything was paid, even the unpriced invoices from the local butcher and farms.

Gemma started barking and growling.

I got up and opened the front door as she bolted out. I watched as she ran down the street. I closed the door and ran after her.

Gemma ran straight ahead of me as I followed, yelling for her to stop. Gemma darted through the traffic and ran to the park.

I got to the same side of the street as she ran in to the bushes. "Gemma!" I growled.

Did she do this often? I had found her in the park the other day, as she ran off from Terra. I heard the barking as I went to her.

Terra sat on the bench, hugging the dog.

"That's very naughty of you Gemma!" She scolded her. Terra got up and saw me, walking towards me. "How did she get out?" She frowned.

"She was scratching at the door and barking. I assumed she wanted to go to the toilet. Does she always run off?"

Terra shook her head as she started walking home. "I was coming back. I just needed to be some where quiet, away from you."

We crossed the road as I grabbed my chest and pretended to be hurt. "Oh your words pierced me."

Terra smiled, trying not to laugh.

"See, I can still make you smile." I flashed a grin as she playfully swatted me.

"Stop it." Terra groaned.

I looked behind me and saw Gemma following, and if I didn't know better, she looked proud of herself.

We walked back to Terra's house in silence.

"Why did you need to get away to think?" I asked as I held the door open and waited till both Terra and Gemma were inside.

"Because I can't think properly with you nearby." She retorted.

I closed the door and snatched her arms as I pulled her towards me. "Good." I muttered as she landed in my chest.

I looked into her hazel eyes. I have missed her so much. Having her in my arms, her scent, everything about her, stirred memories of better days.

"What are you doing?" Terra stuttered.

"I want to be close to you, so you can't think." I whispered as I kissed her.

I felt her soften in my arms for a second before she pushed out of my embrace.

"No." She whispered, stepping back. "I can't."

I stared at her. I knew she would pull away. But I felt her melt in to me, I knew she still has feelings. I smiled at her, opening the door.

"I've got to go. But I'll be back." I stepped out of the house and closed the door behind me.

I waltzed to my car, quite proud of myself. I definitely know now that she still has feelings for me. The game has started. I smiled to myself as I started the car and drove off.

It was a long drive to and from Terra, and the game even longer, but she is worth it.

I walked in to my office the following day, Terra still on my mind.

"So..." Kyle asked, looking up from his computer. "Any progress."

I smirked at him. "I'm working on it. Give me time. She'll wear down."

Kyle didn't need to know yet who the owner is. I know exactly what he will do if he knew. I didn't want any set backs.

"How long do you think before the owner will cave?"

"Give it time." I sat on my chair and booted up my computer. I had a pile of work to go through and started immediately, constantly wondering about Terra.

Ah, Terra has consumed all of Derrick's thoughts, again. The last time this happened, he was a judge for a cooking show, thousands of miles away from her.

Do you think Derrick will still buy the restaurant out from Terra?

Or will he give her a new deal?
