Terra
I moaned as I woke with a headache. I felt the weight on my waist as I opened my eyes. Then I froze.
Derrick was asleep next to me. I lifted the blanket and looked down at us.
Yep, I did it again. Twice in one day. I slept with my husband.
I took a deep breath and tried to sneak out of bed, but Derrick's grip tightened on me.
"Don't." He muttered. I looked at him. Was he awake?
"Give me five more minutes to enjoy you before you leave, please."
Yep, he is awake.
"I've gotta go." I whispered to him. I had to get back home.
Derrick groaned as he pulled me closer. I could feel his skin on mine, his manhood against me.
"I really did miss you." I said after I studied his face. Derrick's eyes flew open.
"I've missed you too." Derrick released me and sat up on the edge of the bed.
I wrapped the sheet around me as I went to the drawers.
"You don't need to hide from me."
I turned to face Derrick. He wore that cocky grin. I got out some clothes and went to the bathroom. I hastily dressed and left the bathroom.
Derrick wasn't there and I felt a bit disappointed but continued out to downstairs.
I found my bag on the kitchen bench. I dug through, trying to find my keys.
"Shit." I whispered to myself. My phone and wallet was there, but not my keys.
I heard a jingle noise as I turned around. I paused before trying to grab my keys off Derrick. He stood there like a Greek God, shirtless and wearing nothing but boxers.
I bit down on my bottom lip as I checked him out. Derrick smirked as my eyes met his.
I reached up for my keys but he pulled them out of my reach.
"Please, Derrick." I pouted. I was even wearing my wedges and it still made no difference.
"Do I get a kiss good bye?"
I stared at him wide eyed. "Excuse me?" I choked out.
"Give me a kiss and I'll give them back." There was his sly smile.
I pecked his lips and held my hand out for my car keys.
"Really?" Derrick teased.
I rolled my eyes and stepped closer, putting my lips on his. Our tongues touched and I was pressed against him. He suckled and bit on my lips before letting me go.
Derrick placed the keys in my hand with a 'I won' smile on his face.
I shook my head and left, Gemma following behind.
"Can she stay?"

The car ride was lonely without Gemma and I didn't like it one bit.
I didn't bother going home and pulled straight in to the restaurant car park.
I walked through the front doors and greeted my staff.
I greeted my customers as they came in when I heard the voice of one that gave me the shivers.
"Well hello there! Is this where you've been hiding?"
I looked to see Jonathan Grant. "Jonathan." I looked around but he was alone. "What? No floozy hanging off your arm tonight?"
"Ha, no." Jonathan let out that creepy smile. I felt my skin crawl. "I have heard wonderful things about this place."
I faked a smile. "I'm glad that you city folk are getting wind of this little place." I mimicked a southern American accent. "Alexis will show you to a table."
That bloke always gives me the willies. After Jonathan finished his dinner, he came over and interrupted me eating mine.
"Can I help you?" I asked as I looked up at him. Jonathan helped himself and sat down, much to my discomfort.
"I heard about your divorce. I'm sorry it didn't work out."
I narrowed my eyes. "I wonder why." I muttered, my appetite gone.
"Well now that you're single..."
My eyes widen. "Oh, I'm not single. I'm actually seeing some one." I smirked as I watched his face fall. I stood up. "Excuse me, I've got to go."
I walked straight to my office, my insides twisting. I took several breathes and stayed in there till it was closing time. I stayed behind, after everyone left and poured myself some red wine. I went to the power board and started shutting the lights off, one by one, till the only one left on was near the front door.
I sat at the table and pulled my phone out. It was nearly ten. I rang Derrick.
"Hey!" Came his cheerful voice. "I have a surprise for you!"
"Jonathan Grant was here."
"What? At the restaurant?" I could hear the anger in his voice. My head snapped up when I heard a smash. "Terra?"
I stood up, my hand dropped to my side. I could smell a fire. I saw the glow from the kitchen.
"What the..." I then remembered I was in the middle of a phone call.
"Terra!"
"I, I better go. " I spaced out, watching the flames grow.
"What happened?"
But I didn't answer. I hung up on Derrick and rang the fire department. I quickly raced to my office to grab some documents when I heard the door shut.
I ran to it, but it wouldn't open.
"No!" I screamed. I looked at the tiny windows my office had, but they weren't big enough to fit a body through. I tried the door again, but it wouldn't budge. "Help!" I screamed as I banged on the door.
I felt it getting hotter. I knelt down on the floor, screaming for help under the door. I tried the door handle again and screamed at the pain of the burn. I tried running into the door to open it, but all that did was hurt my shoulder.
I ran to my desk, covering my mouth with my shirt to prevent breathing in the smoke as I tried to find my spare keys.
My main keys were with my handbag, on the table, on the other side of the door. I looked at my phone and rang the fire brigade again.
They are coming. I rang Derrick again. He picked up instantly.
"Derrick." I cried out.
"Terra! What happened?"
"There's a fire." I tried to wipe the sweat my face with my shoulder.
"Are you okay? Are you safe?" I could hear Derrick's panicked tone. I heard sirens in the distance.
My office was filling with smoke as I started coughing. I couldn't get out. My body was sweating as the temperature rose. "I'm sorry about everything."
"It's okay. I'm about ten minutes away."
I couldn't help but smile. I only rang him about twenty, maybe thirty minutes ago. He was speeding to get here.
"Where are you?"
I coughed again. "I'm stuck inside. I can't get out." I gasped for air as the smoke came at me. I laid on the ground trying to get some air.
I could hear Derrick calling my name as I wheezed. My eyes were getting heavy as I heard the banging noises.
"Help!" I cried out, but my voice didn't go far. Then the room brightened and I saw a silhouette of someone as I blacked out.
Oh no! A fire! Terra's restaurant!
Who do you think started it?
Six chapters left after this one.
