Chapter Two·When We Reach Them

(Alexander Hamilton POV)

While John and Peggy slept Thomas and I just talked. I know I was dead but..I still loved him. "I love you.." I said and intertwined our fingers. "I love you too...I barely sleep because I missed you.." Thomas admitted. We continued whispering before he finally fell asleep. As for me...I left that room. I may have been a zombie but I was just as smart, if not smarter, than when I was alive.

I had taken the time to find a room far off to the unknown that no one would know about until I repaired it. It held a machine. The machine had the name Peter on it. The keypad was odd. The room was very dark and far from the house. A clocktour above everything. I could see Thomas' Monticello from here.

I had previously found blueprints and everything I needed. I worked on it until the sun began to rise. I quickly took off the goggles and gloves and put away the tools too. I walked back to my house just as John woke up. "Where were you?" "Taking a walk." I told him. He said nothing in return but instead woke up Peggy and Thomas. "Guys..Alex can we take the food?" "What am I gonna do with it?" I asked making him chuckle lightly. "Right..." I heard a soft groan to see Thomas was now awake. "Aaron has probably held our funeral by now." He said as Peggy woke up and collected her stuff. Thomas held him gun tightly and John held his close.

The walk to Monticello was silent but a comfortable silence. Then I remembered, "you guys go in first! Take the guns and Thomas go to the window and give me a thumbs up when it's done!" I whisper yelled when we were a few steps away.

They nodded before stepping inside. "John! I thought you died!" "Wow. Aaron did you tell him we did?" "I was hoping." I snickered and heard shuffling before the window upstairs opened and Thomas gave me a thumbs up. I smirked and threw open the door and growled. Peggy, Thomas, and John were neutral, Maria was confused, George was asleep, Aaron let out a high pitched scream as Thomas and I snickered. We high fived as Freddy and Aaron looked absolutely terrified.

"What?!" Aaron screamed. "Aaron Burr, sir!" I yelled as he looked even more scared than before. "I thought you died!" "We found him last night. He saved us. He's the reason we have more food," Peggy told him.

"I-..Is he safe?" He asked them. I growled and hissed at him as he jumped behind James. "Hey, Lex." He simply said. I remember John telling me he was immune. He hugged me and I smiled. "Hey, Jem." After John and Thomas, James was one of my closest friends. "So we found the prob-" Lafayette started before seeing me. "Kill it! Kill it with fire!" He tried to run towards me but Thomas stopped him.

"Laf...I know I'm the zombie but...your scary as hell." He looked at me surprised before smiling at me."Alexander, mon ami!" He said and hugged me tightly. I smiled softly as he pulled away.

Everyone was fully aware I was back now. But George King asked me a question that I didn't want to answer. "Where's Sammy?" God...Samuel was one of the first ones dead. He was trying to tell me something but before I was turned he was killed.

The silence gave King the answer. "N-No...Lee?" I shook my head as he started crying. "No!" An agonized scream escaped his mouth as Angelica comforted him. "I-I'm sorry.." Even though most of them seemed happy to see me. Lafayette and Hercules seemed to remain skeptical of my arrival.

I saw the glare Herc gave me. I looked out the window to see the sun was setting. The machine only works at night. That's how it was build and fixed. "I have to head home." Thomas looked at me sadly before he hugged me. Everyone wished me a goodnight as I left the house.

I left that whole neighborhood and went to the clock tower. I put on the gloves and goggles and entered the code. The electricity sparks started up and my legs felt weak but I regained my composure.

It was working! The only thing was to save one life, it costed three lives. It still wasn't finished because we needed a full moon.
