„No!", it was serious and straight answer coming from Arthit. His face firm and determined like never before. He crossed his arms over his chest to display his displeasure towards their request, stickung to a „No" as answer instead of thinking about it and the consequences again.
What actually happened? A few minutes ago, his brothers visited him with P'Knott bringing his fiance May to visit him in the hospital. He already got the treatment he needed to recover and spent four days in the private room but he wasn't discharged yet due to his father's good connection to let him rest in the hospital. Mr. Rojnapat wanted him to get many more check ups to make sure that he didn't receive any internal injuries from the strangulation. Arthit was fed up to stay here for long and eat the disgusting also bland hospital foods but he knew he would never convince his over protective family to let him get discharged soon so he didn't dare to complain to them. Why waste his energy on convincing them when he already knew their reply to his wish? It was better to listen to them and do as they say but today he couldn't let them treat him as if he was a precious and fragile glass that could break easily if he wasn't protected too much. Now his brothers wanted him to get another treatment. Not a medicinal treatment but a psychotherapy to treat his trauma that raised after the nearly death experience with the sadist strangler. The reason he clearly declined their offer wasn't just because they were treating him like an already broken shell that couldn't be put together anymore but they came to the conclusion without consulting him first. The third reason was his therapist. It was May, his oldest brother's fiance who would be family soon. He would never agree to have a sentimental talk with his soon-to-be-sister-in-law and tell her about his trauma and deepest fear. She would have to dig deeper in his privacy to treat his trauma.
Knott sat next to Arthit, wanted to touch him but the latter retired his hand to avoid his touch, showing his displeasure towards his expectation from him. The oldest brother sighed, Arthit looked aside to avoid his face, also Prem's and May's faces. Kongpob wasn't content about them deciding for their youngest brother behind his back but he wasn't family to meddle in the Rojnapat's affair. He should back down and let the two brothers convince Arthit on their own.
Knott began telling him the reason why the therapist had to be May. „She has experience in this field and I trust her more than anyone. Because she is family, would she be careful not to hurt your feelings."
Arthit thought that his arguments were reasonable but he would never admit it. Besides he feared that she would laugh and look down at him if she knew about his fears. He really was traumatised after the near death experience but he wasn't ready to let out his inner feelings and consult his problems with a person who didn't knew much about his feelings. May was an expert in her profession but she didn't have enough empathy and passion to heal him from his trauma. The oldest brother wanted to continue the discussion about him suffering latter due to his trauma and having problems later to adapt to his life if he didn't receive the treatment earlier. May came between them, touching on her fiance's shoulder to turn his attention to her, shaking her head to him, letting him know about her opinion about his idea.
„I know you want to help him but don't be harsh on him. He's a patient I should treat but if he doesn't want me as his therapist then you can't do anything about it. I don't like forcing patients into my therapy if they don't approve of the treatment. It could be contra-productive too... Just give him the freedom to approve and decide for himself", May was more calm and seemed understandable towards the younger man's decision. She didn't want to destroy their relationship by forcing him into something he was against. Since she studied psychology, she was aware of the concequences of a forced therapy. There wouldn't be any improvement and she didn't want to disappoint her fiance at the end.
