By the time Thursday came around there were only two boxes of our stuff left to come. My dad had also sent an extreme amount of money. When my mum left I really became a "Daddy's Girl". Most kids would have lived with their moms but not me. When I told her she got so angry, she left in a fit of anger. I've seen her twice since then and honestly wish I hadn't. Parents were a soft subject around Hannah. When she was 15 her father became crucially ill and died within weeks of being sick. Things were pretty tough for her and of course I was there for her, in my opinion I'd lost a parent too. She was just becoming used to it, well as used to the fact that her father was gone, when her mother committed suicide. Her mother suffered from severe depression after the death of her husband. It was really horrible to watch my best friend break down like that, she had no one for her and she was left nearly in a worse state than her mother. She went into foster care for a year before my dad decided that we should let her live with us, she needed me, someone she loved when the rest had been taken from her. My dad and Hannah became very close to the point where she now called him her dad. We treated her as part of the family and when we left for L.A. honestly he was heartbroken. He really did spoil us and the amount of money was ridiculous, how did he get that much? I decided anyway that before my date with Alex that I'd take Hannah shopping. New place, new clothes.
Alex had texted me that morning that he was going to take me out for dinner. Where was he taking me for dinner? What clothes should I wear? Is he taking me somewhere fancy? What if I was too dressed up? Or too casual? I dived onto my bed and screamed into my pillow.
"Sweetie, the boys mad for you, it doesn't matter if you wore one of those giant babygrow things and he'd still look at you like you were a God!" Hannah called in from the kitchen, she was making dinner for herself and it smelt like it was burning. I rubbed my forehead and stared blankly at my new clothes. There was a knock on the apartment door and I heard Alex and Hannah talking.
"Two seconds, I'll see if she's ready" Hannah chirped. She came into my room and lowered her voice
"Okay he's wearing black skinnies and Converse, a grey tShirt and a black leather jacket. Go, go, go!" she chanted and left my room and raised her voice again "Haha girls, she shouldn't be too much longer! I hope ye don't have reservations do you?"
"No," oh my God his voice was perfect "we don't need voices where we're going!" he gave a small laugh and they started to small talk again. What the fuck? So we're having dinner, no reservations, and he's dressed in skinnies and a leather jacket, well done Gaskarth for completely fucking up my brain. What do I wear? I sighed and stared at my wardrobe again. I pulled on a new pair of black skinnies, even though I knew I'd die with the heat but I thought they were most appropriate. I put on my favourite pair of Converse and an over sized white tShirt that went off the shoulder with some black swirly writing. I let my hair down, natural and only put on some mascara and eyeliner and a bit of lip gloss and stared in the mirror, it really was the best I could do without knowing anything. I walked out of my room into the opn plan kitchen/sitting room and smiled.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Wow, you look amazing. Like wow. Always ready for you babe!" he winked and I laughed, wow he could be cheesy!
We sat in the car talking about the most random, pointless crap, but we were enjoying ourselves so much. I loved just being around him, he made me feel so positive even the small compliments I knew I didn't deserve made he smile. He was just so adorable! We were driving for a long time and we weren't near the city anymore.
"Are you kidnapping me?" I joked and he laughed, it was so cute. Why was I fangirling so much tonight?
"I'd lie if I said I haven't thought about it!". We both just laughed, his laughter was contagious.
