"Come in, come in, come in." Vic grins, taking my hand and pulling me inside.

I follow, giggling in confusion as he excitedly pulls me into the living room. I sit in my usual spot and Vic does me the pleasure of sitting next to me.

"You're acting weird. What's got you all excited?" I ask Vic suspiciously.

"Um, how about the fact that you had a date and you didn't even text me afterwards. I've been waiting all week to find out what happened. It's worse than the bachelor." he huffs.

I can't help but to blush at his interest in my life.

"Okay, firstly, that was the gayest thing I've ever heard you say. And secondly, I thought I was only to contact your in emergencies." I tell him.

"I'd personally class this as an emergency. So are you going to tell me how this date went or not? Did he take you somewhere special? Was he a gentleman?" Vic asks grinning at me.

"God, you're worse than a thirteen year old." I snort. "He took me to the bar on 2nd street and he bought me a few drinks. Then we played pool, made out on top of the pool table and yeah. I had a good night."

Vic's face falls which confuses me.

"He took you to the bar on 2nd? The one that smells like piss and looks like it needs to be condemned?" he frowns.

"Well I mean, he said fancy was cliche." I shrug.

"How did you even get in?" Vic asks.

"Regan has a fake ID." I tell him, feeling my mood dampening at his tone.

"And you made out on top of a table and went home?"

He sounds disappointed and a little judgemental.

"Well, we actually went back to his place afterwards." I admit.

"Did you hook up?" Vic snaps.

"Well, yeah. It was a date." I say a little defensively.

"It was your first date! Let me guess, he suggested it? What a sleaze." Vic mutters.

"Vic, he was really sweet to me the entire night." I say softly.

"I don't doubt he was! He was trying to get you in bed!" Vic groans.

I feel tears fill my eyes. Why does he have to insinuate that every guy that shows an interest in me is just after my body?

"Why can't you just be happy for me?" I sniff, my bottom lip wobbling.

Vic's expression softens and he looks guilty.

"Kell, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." he apologizes, wrapping his arms around me. "That was uncalled for. I just,"

He sighs and cuts himself off.

"You what?" I sniff.

"I just think you deserve the world." he mumbles.

I can't help but to smile through my tears. I lean forward and kiss his cheek.

"I had a really good time." I remind him.

He smiles a little and nods.

"Okay." he whispers.

"It's not like I'm going to marry him or anything. It was just one date." I say.

"Right, right. You just don't deserve to be used and thrown away. Stop putting out for him and see if he sticks around." Vic suggests.

"What if he doesn't stick around though?" I frown.

"Then you know he's not right for you." Vic explains.
