I feel uneasy as Mom stops in Vic's driveway. I'm not sure if he wants me here for our therapy session. I texted him asking if we could talk a few days ago but he never replied.
I really like Vic and I feel quite heartbroken that he's not my boyfriend anymore.
Not only that but I'm still really shaken up from what Mike did and now I don't have Vic to comfort me.
I didn't just lose my boyfriend. I lost my best and only friend.
I get out of the car and Mom drives off. I guess there's no turning back now. I walk shakily up to Vic's front door and knock gently.
He answers the door but barely looks at me. I follow him silently to the living room and sit hesitantly in my usual seat as he sits across from me. He takes his notepad and holds a pen to it.
"How have you been?" he asks coldly, not even looking at me.
"We're not even going to talk about it?" I huff.
He looks up at me. He's got an angry exterior but I can see that he's just trying to hide his pain.
"There's nothing to talk about." he says.
"Fine." I mutter.
"How have you been?" he repeats.
"Fucking horrible." I mumble.
"Why is that?" he questions.
I look at Vic who is back to staring at his notepad.
"Something happened to me." I murmur.
"What happened to you?" he nearly sounds bored.
I swallow hard and look down at my hands.
"A guy made me feel unsafe." I squeak out.
I notice Vic look up at me.
"Were you attacked again at the park?" he asks. I can hear the worry in his voice which is relieving.
"No. It was a friend." I mumble.
"Kells, what happened?" he asks as he puts down his notepad.
I wipe away a tear that is already falling down my cheek.
"You don't care." I whisper.
"Of course I care. Kellin, tell me what happened so I can help you." he near pleads.
"I can't." I croak out. "You wouldn't believe me."
His face softens at my words.
"I'll always take your word over anyone else's, Kells. Tell me what happened." he murmurs.
I take a few deep breaths trying to compose myself. My gaze falls to my hands as I start taking.
"I was so scared, I couldn't even move. He kissed me and I pushed him away and told him I didn't want to do that." I begin shakily. "He wouldn't listen though and pulled his penis out. I told him that I didn't want to do it but he wouldn't listen and he forced me to touch him. I was too scared to stop so I started jerking him off."
I start sobbing and let my tears fall to my lap.
"I'm so weak. I should have tried harder to get away." I cry.
"No, Kells, this isn't your fault. He forced you and you were understandably scared." Vic explains.
"You want to know what the worst part is?" I sniff, looking up at Vic.
"What?" he asks.
"My boyfriend walked in and started yelling at me." I choke out.
I can tell it takes him a second to understand but when he does, his eyes go wide and he looks instantly regretful.
