"Lady (Y/N), I do not want to hurt you." Thor responded to my question, frowning.

"Then let's spar," I replied, "And you'll see that I'm capable of defending myself." After a moment of hesitation, he nodded. Trailing behind, he followed me into the sparring room where he'd been beating up on Romanoff this morning.

"Are you sure about this, Lady (Y/N)?" He asked, clearly confused about my intentions. I extended my hand in front of me and shot a bolt of lightning out of it. His eyes widened, and he jumped out of the way. The bolt was absorbed into the wall, leaving only a small hole with steam trailing out of it.

"Does that answer your question?" I asked, grinning at Thor. He grinned back after a moment, and I'd hoped he wouldn't do that. It made my heart flutter and my knees weaken, and it made me want to go easy on him during our match. But I put my feelings for him to the side, flipping out of the way as he came at me with his hammer. I grabbed my sword from where it hung sideways on my back and swung at him in retaliation.

We fought back and forth for awhile- him being the god of thunder worked almost too well with the lightning bolts that shot out of my hands at will, so it was difficult to land a solid blow on him. Couple that with the fact that both of us are quite agile, and that's the reason no one has been able to hit the other hard enough for about 10 full minutes.

"Good gracious," I said, panting as I came to a halt on the far side of the room, "This is taking longer than expected." Thor smiled from his side, standing up as he tossed his hammer in the air and caught it.

"You've been a great fighter. Your skill on the battlefield is incredible, even within the training room." I grinned, standing up and brushing the debris off my palms and picking my sword back up.

"Thank you, Thor. Perhaps you would have figured that out earlier if you weren't so hesitant to fight me." He gasped, faking offense as he threw a hand over his chest.

"I'm shocked at you, Lady (Y/N). Looking to start fights is not very ladylike of you." He was laughing even as he spoke, making me smile.

"I never was looking to fight you, I was looking to spar. And good thing I never said I'd be ladylike." I shot back playfully as I threw a bolt of lightning at him. He grinned, making my cheeks warm a bit.

"Enough talk!" He said, allowing his hammer to absorb the bolt of lightning. "Let us fight!" He ran across the room at me again, and I charged my sword and ducked out of the way. I ran for a little bit, forcing him to chase after me before I turned around abruptly. He tried to stop, but the momentum carried him forward, allowing me to slice at him while I jumped out of the way. He gasped in shock, coming to a stop by throwing his hammer into the ground.

"My hair!" He shouted, holding a lock of his blonde hair in his hand. "You cut my hair!" I looked on the ground to where there were a few strands that had indeed been singed. I looked back up to see him already grinning, and I effortlessly kept the joke going.

"Oh, stop being such a princess. It's just hair, it'll grow back." His mouth dropped open, but I could still see the corners of his mouth turned up as he replied.

"How dare you?" He could barely keep a straight face, he was giggling so much. "You've made me lose some of my beautiful hair!" Unexpectedly, he came at me, darting over to where I stood with unprecedented speed. I didn't even have time to react as he plowed into me, pinning me down to the floor(though I noticed that it didn't hurt at all- he was still being super gentle). My reflexes tried to catch up, but Thor had already had me down. He put his hammer on top of my chest, standing up with a victorious smile.

"Don't let your attention on the battlefield drift, Lady (Y/N). We can't have you getting hurt." I grinned, sitting up and taking his hammer by its handle. It was surprisingly light, for how much everyone had gone on about it being impossible to lift.

"Don't start yelling about your hair on the battlefield, either, Thor," I reprimanded, holding his hammer out to him. "That won't do you any better." His mouth dropped open, and he stared at his hammer in shock. I stared at it, turning it over in my grip.

"What, did I scratch it, or something? It's not my fault, whatever it is." He shook his head, taking the hammer from me and dropping it at his side.

"No, no, no, you didn't scratch it," He said, taking my hands and smiling brightly. "You are worthy, Lady (Y/N)!" I looked at my hand, stunned for a bit.

"I guess I am," I said, nodding. "I completely forgot that was a thing, but it does make sense." Thor was still holding my hands, and he began to pull me lightly toward the door.

"Come! We must tell Tony. We made something called a bet yesterday, and now he will owe me money!" Thor gleefully dragged me through the tower, both of us hand in hand, completely unaware of how hard it was making me blush. We eventually found Tony in the kitchen, sitting on the counter and talking to Clint.

"- granny smith apples are by far the best..." He trailed off as Thor and I thundered into the room. "Oh, hey, you two." I smiled, my eyebrows raising.

"You seemed to be having a heated discussion about apples." I said, even though it was more of a 'why' kind of statement. Tony nodded, offering no reasoning, but Thor waved that away.

"No matter about your apples named after grandmother Smith. Lady (Y/N) is worthy!" He announced, throwing his hands into the air and taking one of mine with them. Tony and Clint both raised their eyebrows high.

"What?" Clint exclaimed. "No way she's worthy. No one in the tower is besides you." He pointed at Thor with an apple that he was eating, conveniently not a granny smith. Thor smiled in response, holding his hand out to call his hammer. After hearing a few crashes and a shout from Natasha, the hammer appeared in his hand. Thor handed it to me, looking extremely proud as I took it from him, tossing it between my hands. Tony's and Clint's mouths dropped open, and I laughed at their expressions.

"Guess I'm not a goody two-shoes for no reason." I said, playing on the nickname Tony had given me when I first arrived at the tower. He nodded after a moment in concession.

"Sweet, goody-two-shoes, you're worthy." He then turned to Thor, smirking as he took a bite of his granny smith apple. "So, when are you going to ask her out?" I choked on air, turning to Thor and trying to keep my blushing to a minimum.

"Ask me out?" I repeated, keeping my smile back in case Tony was just toying with me. Thor nodded, smiling broadly.

"Yes. I would like to ask you out on a date, Lady (Y/N). I was informed that a good first date on earth would be to go and get a treat called ice cream. Is this correct, would you enjoy that?" I smiled up at him, taking his right hand in my left and letting his hammer dangle in my right hand.

"Absolutely. Whenever you're ready, let's go get ice cream."
