The blazing storm

Chapter 14

The moment Darcy woke up, she bolted to the Hepheastus cabin.  She was excited that Leora had acknowledged her.  She was also excited that she had a name for her best friend to assess.  She burst through the doors in cabin nine.  Everyone was either asleep or half awake,  but as Darcy came in, yelling in excitement (obviously), they jumped awake. 

"Leo!" Darcy yelled and ran to his bed.  "Leo I had a dream!"

Leo sat up grogily and rubbed sleep from his eyes.  "Hey buddy," He said.  He looked around at everyone else who was staring at them.  "You couldn't wait until breakfast?"

Darcy ignored by the glares she was receiving.  The sun was only just cresting over the horizon and today was the day where everyone was allowed to sleep in.  "It's about Leora!" She grinned. 

Leo suddenly was wide awake.  "What?  IS SHE OK?!" He had grabbed Darcy's arms ans had started to shake her.

"Yes she's fine!" She managed through the shakes.  Leo sat back on his bed with a huff of relief.  Darcy grinned again.  "She just wanted to know what you think if the name Amelia."

Leo froze.  He was staring up at Darcy, his big brown eyes open wide.  "Amelia?" He whispered. Darcy nodded with a smile.  A grin started to spread across his face.  It spread wider and wider with each passing second.  He stood up and lifted his fist over his head in victory.  "I'm going to be a dad!" He crowed happily.

The kids jn the Hepheastus cabin cheered.  Leo wrapped his arms around Darcy.  He nearly squeezed all the air from her lungs.  "So that's a yes?" She said, also hugging Leo. 

Leo nodded.  "Of course!" He looked up at the sky.  "Of course!" He yelled again. 

Darcy giggled.  "Let's get us some breaky." She said.

Leo smiled and yanked a CHB sweater over his pajama top.  He strutted out of the cabin proudly.  Aperentaly he was too happy to care that everyone would see his pink flannel pajama pants.  Darcy wondered why they were pink but shrugged it off.  She was talking about Leo Valdez after all. 

Instead of going to the dinning pavillion, they first went to visit Chiron in his office.  Leo was so excited to tell everyone about his new baby name.  He burst into Chiron's office.  "Her name's going to be Amelia!" He yelled happily.

Then he froze.  Sitting in front of Chiron was none other than James.  And he was crying.

Darcy and james were preparing to pick up their new passports.  They had found some vanilla coke at the market and were going to open it in celebration when they got their passports because they could finally go home. 

As soon as they picked up their passports and were back in their rented room, James opened the vanilla coke and poured two cups.  They held up their cups in cheers.  "To going home!" James grinned.

"To going home." Darcy agree.  They drank.  The entire jug was gone within an hour.  They danced happily chatting about what they would do once they were home and back at Camp Half-Blood.  James had been taken during the Titan war and Darcy just before the giant war so they had no idea how much Camp had changed since. 

James stopped dancing and kissed Darcy.  "I need tonuse the bathroom." He said and kissed her again.  "Be right back."

Darcy smiled to herself and leaned back against the bed.  All of a sudden, she felt oddly dizzy.  The world started tilting and became fuzzy.  She stumbled and feel to her knees.  James, she thought.  I need to get to James.  He would know what to do.  There was a big sound in the bathroom that sounded like someone falling.  She pushed herself up and stumbled to tge bathroom.  James was unconscious in the middle of the bathroom floor.  The room door behind her smashed open.  A tall man stood in the doorway.  He wore dark sunglasses, a black trench coat and a balck and yellow baseball cap.  He grinned at Darcy showing of two rows of pointy teeth. 

Darcy panicked and slamed the bathroom door shut.  She heaved James to his feet and dragged him intonthe bathtub.  She yanked the curtain closed and huddled in the corner, shielding the unconscious James.  The bathroom door burst open.  Darcy squeezed James closer to her.  She knew there was nothing else she could do.  The curtain was ripped aside and the man in the trench coat smiled evily down at her. 

Darcy started to slowly loose consciousness.  When she looked up at the man, she knew that this was the end.

Present day

Darcy rushed to James's side.  He hugged her tightly.  "What's wrong?" She asked, gently stroking his hair. 

"They're coming back for us." He said, wipping away his stray tears.  "The Cyclopses are coming back for us."

Darcy seized up.  The man in the trench coat, he was a Cyclops. 

Leo stepped up.  "We won't let them get to you." He said firmly.

Chiron nodded.  "The camp will help." 

Darcy smiled.  She felt light headed and before she knew it, she had colapsed. 

Apollo and Leora were in her room again.  Leora paced back and forth as Apollo lounged on her bed.  "The Cyclopses are going to attack Camp Half-Blood." She said.  Leora stoped moving.
"The kids can handle themselves." Apollo said.  Leora's face contorted with concentration.  "They're strong and they are able to kill as many monsters as they want in a matter of seconds."
Leora gripped the edge of her dresser and hunched over. 
Apollo sat up.  "You ok, sweetie?"
Leora looked at Apollo with a frown.  "I think-" Her eyes widened and she placed her hand on her stomach.  "Oh my gods!  Baby!  Oh my gods!  BABY!" She started to panic. 
Apollo lunged towards her.  He swiftly picked her up and ran out of her room and down the hallway.  They burst through the front doors and onto the cobblestone street that lined Mount Olympus.   He ran straight to the palace and through the doors.  As usual, Zeus and Posiedon were bickering.
"Sorry to interrupt!" Apollo yelled up at them.  "But emergency!"
Posiedon looked down at his daughter.  He summoned a comfortable looking bed and Apollo set Leora down on it.  "Are you alright Leora?" Posiedon took her hand gently. 
She sucked in a breath.  Apollo talked for her.  "She's having her baby gods damnit!"

Darcy woke with a gasp.  Leo, Chiron and James were leaning over her.  She grabbed the front of Leo's shirt.  "Baby." She said. 

Leo shot up.  "BABY!" He yelled in a panic.  He ran out of the door.  Darcy stood up and kissed James.  "Be right back." She ran after Leo. 

Leo ran to the Posiedon cabin and flung open the door.  It crashed to the wall and Percy jumped out of bed with his sword, Riptide, at the ready.  He saw Leo and frowned.  "What the Hades dude?"

Leo stared at him wide-eyed.  "BABY!" He yelled.  Darcy caught Percy's eye.  Leo ran towards the Hades cabin.  Percy ran after him.  Darcy rolled her eyes and chased them.  As they were running towards the Hades cabin, James caught up.  "What's going on?" He asked. 

Darcy looked at James.  "Leo's girl is having a baby." She said.  James's eyes widened. 

They burst into the Hades cabin.  Nico looked up grogily.  He glared at them.  "What?" He asked.
"BABY!" They all yelled in unison. 

Nico shot up out of his bed.  They bolted towards the Big house, not too sure what to do.  The stumbled into Chiron's office.  He was on the phone. 

"Alright thank you." Chiron said.  He hung up snd turned to the group of panicking demigods.  He grinned at them.  "It's a girl."
