"What were you thinking?" Leigh yelled angrily as she hoisted Leo up off the ground. "Did you become a dalek in the past nine months or something?"
Leo opened his mouth to speak but closed it. He opened it again after carefully picking his words. "Did you just make a Doctor Who reference?" He asked, laughing nervously. Yep, Darcy decided, he would die by Leigh.
Leigh rolled her eyes and turned to Darcy. "Same to you." She froze before turning back to Leo. "And yes I did make a Doctor Who reference." She scoffed before walking away towards the border. Everyone followed in silence. The tension in the atmosphere was becoming unbearable. Luckily, Leo spoke up.
"So..." He started. Leigh glanced at him from the corner of her eye. "Where's Amelia?"
"Olympus," Leigh replied immediately. "As soon as you left I called on Po and he brought her up there."
"Ah." Leo said.
"Then the Leonte that hunts with the one I just killed appeared. I killed that one also." A small smile cracked on her face. "The nursery might need vacuuming and a new crib."
Darcy glances back at Leo. He had a small smile on his face but he tried to suppress it. There was still a pretty good chance Leigh would kill him for handcuffing her to a crib.
"Keep your guard up." James says in a shaky voice. Darcy had momentarily forgotten how shaken up he was. She wondered if Chiron would consider giving him therapy for PTSD.
The ground started to shake as if something big was heading their way. The windows of the nearby cabins rattled; Darcy was afraid they would shatter.
Leigh flattened herself against the Demeter cabin, pulling Darcy allong with her. Darcy's shoulder slammed into the sharp edge of a window sill. She bit her lip to hold back a cry. That was going to bruise in the morning... maybe even earlier.
Leo and James also joined the two girls. Not five seconds after they had hidden themselves, a big ugly Cyclops came into view, dragging a big twisted tree trunk behind him.
Even from her hiding spot, Darcy recognized the big ugly oaf as Gas. Anger bubbled in her stomach and presented itself as a bitter taste in her mouth. Before she knew it, Darcy was charging him. His bloodshot eyes widened as he saw her.
She was screaming bloody murder. She wanted him dead. Darcy knocked an arrow, still charging, and shot it towards Gas.
He didn't even have time to heft his tree trunk weapon. The arrow sank into his neck. Darcy shot another one. That arrow reached his stomach. With one final scream, Darcy realesed her last arrow. It plunged into the empty socket where his heart would have been.
The only thing left of the vile monster was a cloud of yellow monster dust. Leigh and the others ran up behind her. Darcy didn't even realise her hands were shaking. They were quiet for a moment before Leigh spoke up. "Di immortales kid," She whispered, obviously astonished. "I knew you were angry, but I didn't know you were that angry."
A single tear streaked Darcy's face. "That thing hurt my family." She turned away and started heading towards the action. "And karma's a bitch."
