~Chapter 11~

It was Friday morning and Betty just hit 16 weeks.
"Come on baby get up, we have the hospital." Jughead said crouching over her.
"No we always have them on a Saturday, it's Friday we have school." She said half asleep
"No, well yeah you're right it is Friday but we have an appointment this morning they couldn't get us one tomorrow." He kissed her forehead.
"Oh ok." She said and clambered out of bed and got dressed.
"I'm ready." She called and headed to the kitchen. She went to reach for the marshmallows when on the counter  she saw rose petals sprinkled all over and five marshmallows side by side. Each had food dye on in the shape of a letter and one had a question mark. It spelled "Prom?" She spun around to see Jughead smiling holding a gift box.
"Now it's not a traditional prom present but I still think you'll love it."
Betty unwrapped it and saw the cutest baby sleep suit . It was white and fluffy with long sleeves and feet, it had a fluffy, white hood with bear ears sewn on and in black italic writing it said "Baby Jones" on the heart.
"Jughead Jones, this is the cutest thing I've ever seen." She hugged him tight and kissed him on the cheek.
"I saw it on an online store where you can personalise things and I couldn't resist." He laughed. "So, will you two go of prom with me?"
"What do you say baby?" She said  stroking her  stomach. Jughead laughed and pulled her waist closer.  "Yes, Jughead." She kissed him slowly.

"That baby will come out a marshmallow at this rate." He laughed as he drove to the hospital, while Betty ate more marshmallows. Betty put the bag down as she had controlled the cravings and just looked at her beautiful boyfriend. She looked in her bag at the little onesie she had been given and smiled, she brought it in so when they got to school after the hospital she could show everyone what an amazing boyfriend she had. She looked back at him and smiled.
"Elizabeth Cooper, what are you staring at my angel." He said and peered at her.
"Oh just you, handsome." She laughed. "You are the best boyfriend ever and the best dad."
"Why thank you beautiful, and you are the best girlfriend ever to exist and you are the best mom."
When they arrived at the hospital they went straight into the nurses room.
"Usually we don't do ultrasounds each month, but we have with you because because your body is still developing sometimes that can interfere with the baby's health and growth." The nurse smiled, "At this point your baby is smaller than it should be at 16 weeks, but this happens all the time. Just remember to keep on eating healthily. The way you're growing looks like your bump and baby will always be 2-3 weeks smaller. For example, you're 16 weeks now and your baby has all the right developments and milestones reached but it's size is about the size of a 14 week baby. Is that clear?"
"So when I'm 25 weeks my baby will be reaching all the developments it should have by then it'll just be the size of a 22-23 week baby?"
"Exactly. Other than size the baby is 100% healthy. I'll see you next month."
"Thanks so much." Jughead said as they left. They hopped in the car and headed to school.
"Are you Okay princess." Jughead said patting her knee.
"Yeah, I'm just a bit tired, that's all." She sighed.
"Tell me what's wrong."
"It's really stupid, it's just I really want to feel the baby kick." She sulked. Jughead just laughed at her.
"I do too beautiful. We'll get there." He said.
When they arrived at school they headed straight to biology. It was right in the middle of the class as they knocked on the door.
"Mr Jones, Miss Cooper where were you?"
"We had a hospital checkup for Betty and the baby.
"Alright come in and take your seats." Mr Morris gestured to the empty desk. Jughead and Kevin had swapped seats ever since Betty had gotten pregnant so Jughead was always next to her.
The class was really boring and she struggled to focus, like seriously who cared about the structure of a bacteria cell- not Betty at least. She sat leaning on one of her hands until in the middle of the discussion something happened. She was trying not to fall asleep when she felt the baby kick. She bolted up quickly and started squealing and giggling uncontrollably.
"What's up babe?" Jughead whispered. She smiled, hitting Jughead's arm playfully before grabbing it and moving it onto her stomach.
"Jug the baby, it's kicking." She squealed quietly.
"Oh my god, our little angel is kicking." He moved both of his hands onto the bump and smiled so much.
"Is there a problem Miss Cooper?" Mr Morris said.
"No! Not a problem at all." Betty giggled.
"Whats going on?" Toni whispered from behind them.
"The baby's kicking!" Jughead beamed.
"Oh my god let me feel." Toni cheered and placed a hand on Betty's  stomach.
"Mr Jones, Miss Cooper and Miss Topaz What is going on?" Mr Morris looked frustrated.
"Their baby is kicking." Toni shouted.
Kevin, Cheryl, Sweet Pea and Fangs all rushed forward and put their hands on Betty's  stomach to feel the kicking.
"OMG Betty!" Kevin beamed.
"Oh, Congratulations Betty, Jughead" The teacher nodded and let them have their celebrations. Jughead pulled Betty closer and kissed the crown of her head before catching her lips with his.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too."

"Guess who got asked to prom this morning." Betty said smugly, smiling at Jughead. It was after class and they were sat in the student lounge.
"Oh how did he ask you!!!" Cheryl squealed.
"So as you know I've been craving marshmallows so he laid out marshmallows and he put food dye on each one, and each one had a letter on and it said "Prom?" and he had put rose petals on the counter where the marshmallows were."
"Aww Jughead that is so sweet." Cheryl said.
"And.... he got me a little present. Well it's kind of mine." Betty said and brought out the cute little onesie. Cheryl's eyes melted as she looked at the tiny little onesie.
"Oh my gosh that is the cutest thing I've ever seen." She reached out and held it in her hands.
"Jughead Jones sweetest man alive." Sweet Pea joked.
"I literally just bought a cute little onesie for my little baby. But it is so cute isn't it, I bet it will cuter on our little marshmallow though. If it looks like Betty then it will be adorable-" He rambled, Betty could tell how excited he was for this and everyone else could.
"Aww bring out the tissues. If it looks like Betty then I'll feel bad for you." Veronica sneered as she walked in. Betty squirmed on the couch uncomfortably.
"Don't you dare talk about my baby like that- ever. And don't you dare talk about my girlfriend like that ever again, she's the most beautiful girl on the planet." Jughead stood up facing her.
"Come on Jughead, who are you kidding? It's obviously an act. No one especially not 17 year olds who are part of a gang are this soppy about baby's"
"Go to hell Veronica" Toni said.
"What you think that I don't care about the best thing that's ever happened to me? Veronica just leave my two beautiful angels ALONE."
"Betty, honey don't be fooled by this act the minute you have that thing he'll understand what it's like and leave you, for someone who isn't taking care of a chubby lump 24/7. Betty all these perfect family moments he tells you about are LIES. Face it sweetie you're on your own." She snarled but faked sympathy.
"Betty don't listen to her. She's just jealous." Jughead said.
"Who would be jealous of a knocked up teenager who has basically just thrown their life away?" Veronica hissed.
Betty ran into the bathroom crying as Veronica  said that, because it was true.
She locked herself in a cubicle and sobbed.
"Betty. Open up, Veronica is just saying that. She's just trying to hurt you. Screw her." Cheryl said knocking on the door.
"Betty don't actually believe her, it's Veronica?" Toni said.
"Yeah but it is true isn't it. Once the baby is born I won't have time for Jug, he'll go off in the bar and see a girl who is skinny and beautiful and he'll go off with her. I won't be able to be a normal teenager." Betty said between sobs.
"Babe, Jughead loves you, he tells you that everyday. And he loves the baby too, hell he's  the most excited out of anyone. He's buying gifts, keeping the scan pictures with him. He literally cry's with happiness anytime he talks about the baby." Cheryl comforted.
"It's true Betty he does. Jughead has never loved anyone the way he loves you." Toni reassured her. She was actually right, Jughead separated himself from people but he never let go of Betty.
"Betty, I love you more than anything, I would never leave you, when the baby is born I'm going to be by your side through everything. I love you Betty. I've loved you since we were little 6 year olds drawing superheroes in kindergarten, you're my everything, I don't want to lose you or the baby." Betty didn't know Jughead was in there the whole time, she opened the door  to see Jughead crouched down on his feet with a sad look on his face. She wiped a tear from her eye and held her arms out to him, he got in his knees and shuffled to her and let her embrace him tightly. He rubbed her back and kissed her temple.
"I love you too." She whispered as she clung to him as they both sat on the bathroom floor.
