The black van followed me as soon as I pulled out of the school parking lot.
I drove home and parked my car before going into my fathers office. No matter how long it been since I've taken over the business, this will always be his spot.
Martha had already prepared a few snacks for me and had placed them in the room.
I logged onto my conputer and opened the safe behind the desk and took out two of my flash drives.
Theses are encripted,so if anyone tries to acces them all the information will be immediately erased.
I put in the first one and got to work.
My parents before they died were not would I'd call bad guys, but to the law they were.
They would import cigars without the import or tax prices and sell them for twice as much.
Some of the Cigars they brought wern't exactly legal in the U.S. but a lot of things aren't legal. But for some reason the feds were always trying to arrest them.
Sure some of the people they did business with weren't the best but at least they wern't pushing drugs.
I checked over everything and made sure all the shipments were in order before I put in the other flash disk.
This one had all the information on the casions and resturants and a hotel they owned.
I had to double check one of the restuant figures because the numbers didn't seem to be adding up.
Seems someone's stealing money from me. I leaned back in my chair and picked up my phone.
I turned on some music before I spoke. The feds like to try and listen in my calls and this is one of the ways I've found to block them out.
"Anthony, I need you to handle a little problem for me." I told him and gave him the name of the resturant before he hung up.
I looked up at the ceiling and thought about Avery, my thoughts have been turning to her all day and I smiled just thinking about her.
I wonder if she'll like me?
I wonder what she'd do if she ever found out what I do?
I sigh and copy all the information to the flash drives before I locked them back in the safe and erased all the information from my computer.
You could never be to careful.
I stood up and went downstairs to find Martha in the kitchen making dinner and I walked up behind her and kissed her on the cheek.
She giggled like a school girl and I smiled.
"You remind me of you father, always work first, play later." She said as she placed a plate of food in front of me and I smiled at the mention of him.
"If only I could be half the person he was." I mumbled as I took a bite.
She came over and kissed my head before she walked out, leaving me to eat in silence.
I looked up at the seat across from me, the seat that used to belong to my father and my mothers beside it.
Even with Martha in the house I still felt alone.
An image of Avery's blushing face flashed in my eyes and I smiled and went back to eating my food.
Maybe I won't be so lonley for long.
