Interrogate

"Can we do this another time, I'm busy at the moment." I spoke to the officer who had spoken first.

"That's not how this works Ms. Castellanos." The officer said moving closer to me and I raised my eyebrow.

"Am I under arrest?" I asked really wanting to know.

"No, we just want to ask you a few questions." The other one said stepping forward.

"Good then you wouldn't mind waiting a few hours while I finish my errands." I said leading Avery over to the passenger side of my car and made sure she was inside.

Walking back over to my side of the car I squeezed past the officers and opened my door and put one foot in before I looked back at the police.

"Tell your Captain that I'll be there in two hours the latest." I said and got in, pulling out before they could say anything else.

The car ride with Avery was quiet and I kept biting my lip and sneaking glances over at her.

When I pulled up in front of her house neither of us made a move to get out but still said nothing.

"Are you in some kind of trouble?" She finally asked and I breathed a sigh of relief that she was still talking to me.

"Not that I know of." I told her honestly and she looked at me with one eyebrow raised.

"I'm being honest." I said and she nodded her head.

"Do those police offices who came for you have anything to do about last night?" She asked refering to last night's shooting.

"Most likely, but I won't really know until I get there." I said trying my hardest not to lie to her.

"Guess that means you have to go." She said looking away from me with a sad face and I reached over and took her chin in my hand and made her look back over at me.

"I still have time and if you want, as soon as I'm done there I can come back." I said and a beatiful smile light her face and I felt my cold heart warm a little and I smiled back.

"I'd like that. If you came back." She said shyly.

"Then I'll come back." I said and leaned over towards her lips and kissed her.

She moved closer and I placed my hand on the back of her head as I claimed her mouth with mine.

She suprised me when I felt her tongue run across my lips but I wasn't about to stop this kiss and I opened my mouth for her and she immediately took advantage.

We were kissing for what seemed like forever and yet still not long enough when she pulled away breathing hard.

"Hurry up with your business then get back here." She demanded and I raised and eyebrow at how down right sexy she sounded.

"Anything you say babe." I said and we got out of the car and I walked her to her door, getting one more kiss before I left.

I pulled out my phone as soon as I pulled out of her driveway and called Brian.

"Hello."

"I need you to call Valdez and have him come down the police station in one hour." I said and hung up the phone.

Brian might be a pig sometimes but he knows how to get the job done.

It didn't take me too long to get to the precinct. I parked away from the police cars and got out.

Walking into the police station was uneventful until I told the officer behind the counter my name.

It was as if all the people in the building had super hearing, by everyone I mean everyone. Police and suspects all turned to look at me.

From the back, one of the two officers came and escorted me back into one of their interrogation rooms and then left closing the door behind him.

I sat in the chair and looked around the bare room and the two way mirror on the wall in front of me.

They had me sitting there for at least twenty minutes until two detectives decided to grace me with their presence.

They said nothing as they came into the room, just pulled out the two chairs on the other side of the table and sat down.

Placing a folder on the table they both reguarded me silently and I did the same.

One of the officers looked like a no nonsense man his brown hair was cut close to his head and his hard brown eyes tried to stare me down. The other one's soft features seemed to be the exact opposite of his partner. Blonde hair and blue eyes stared at me with a welcoming smile.

If they actaully thought staring at me would make me unconfortable then they were in for a suprise.

"I'm detective Casey and this is my partner decective Knowles." The detective with the kind eyes said.

Still not speaking I nodded my head.

"If you don't mind we'd like to ask you a few questions about last night." Casey said opening the folder in front of him and then pushing it to my side of the table.

"Do you know this man?" Casy asked and I looked down at the photo to see Trevor staring at me. I looked over for photo for a long time keeping my face blank as I knew the detectives were watching for any type of reaction from me.

Looking up I gave them a blank look.

"Can't say that I've met him before." I said and saw Knowles' face tighten in furry but Casey placed a hand on his shoulder to keep him still before reaching over and turning to another picture and I sighed and leaned back.

It's going to be a long day.
