They kept pushing photo after photo in my face and I really wanted to shove those pictures down their throats.
"Your trying to say that you have no idea who this man is"? Detective Casey asked me calmly and I nodded my head.
"Bullshit!" Knowles shouted jumping up from his seat as his chair tipped backwards and fell to the floor with a loud clatter.
He leaned over the table, invading my personal space but I refused to be the one to retreat as he glared at me.
"This is the man that shot at you last night." He growled while tapping the photo with hand but kept his gaze on me. "From what I've heard about you there's no way that you would let something like this go, now stop fucking with us and tell what you know!" He screamed in my face, since he was so close I could feel the spit flying from his mouth and landing on me.
I stared in his eyes as he continued glaring at me and felt one corner of my mouth tilt up in a smirk.
"I've been here for almost an hour detective, answered every question, I'm sorry but I do not know this man. If this truly is man who shot at me last night for whatever reason I do not know. Now I've been very courteous in coming here and allowing myself to be questioned but I won't let you disrespect me." I said and stood up from my seat just as the door opened and Valdez walked in.
"Sorry I'm late." He said looking between me and the two detectives.
"No worries, the Detectives and I came to an understanding and are finished here." I said walking around the table towards the door.
"We didn't say you could leave Castellanos." Casey said calmy as he stood.
"I was under the impression that I was free to leave at any time detective, unless there is something you'd like to charge me with." I asked looking at him with one raised eyebrow.
Knowles had his hands clenched as if he was trying to restrain himself form rushing me and I smirked at him and his face darkened as he took a step in my direction only to be stopped by his partner.
"Is there a problem detective?" I asked and shrugged Casey's hand off and stalked over to me trying to use his height to intimidate me.
"Yeah, there's a problem. You. Evil people like you." He growled and I let my eyes go empty.
He took a step back before he could stop himself and I saw a flash of fear in his eyes as he looked in mine before he cover it with a glare.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help to you detectives but as I've told you before, I don't know that man." I said with a smile on my lips but my eyes remaind empty as I moved my gaze from Knowles to Casey.
I watched as Casey took in my eyes and his hand automatically moved to the gun at his side. He looked at me with fear in his eyes and his hand shaking on his still holstered weapon as I continued smiling.
"Have a good day detectives, now if you'll excuse me." I said and turned to Valdez who had been waiting patiently by the door.
He opened the door for me and closed it behind us as we walked out the precinct with police eyes on us.
He was about to speak as soon as we got outside but I silenced him with a shake of my head and motioned to the SUV sitting in the parking lot and he took the hint to stay quiet.
I waved him off when I got to my car and told him I'd call him later and he chuckled and shook his head.
When I got inside my car I turned my radio up and sped out the police parking lot heading home.
When I got there Martha had sone food waiting for me but I told her that I wasn't staying and she smiled.
"When am I going to meet her?" She asked and I smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Soon, I promise." I said and ran up the stairs to change my clothes before running out the door again.
I basically sped to Avery's house, not slowing down until I put the car in park.
Walking up to the door and knocked and waited. It wasn't ling before the door opened revealing her father.
"Good evening sir." I said respectfully and he raised his eyebrow as he stepped outside with me closing the door behind him.
"For some reason when I look at you I can tell that you don't call anyone "sir" and that I should find it an honor." He said and I kept quiet.
"My daughter is very important to me and for some reason she seems to like you, but let me give you a warning, I don't care how big and bad you think you are or how rich you are, if you hurt my baby girl my shot gun and I will find you." He said looking me directly in the eyes and I had to say I was impressed not a lot of people could do that.
"Yes sir, I understand. I have no intention of hurting Avery, we've only known each other for a few days but I can promise you that is the furthest thing from my mind. I will treat her like the queen she is and only aim to make her happy." I told him as we kept eye contact and I watched as he searched my face for any signs for deceit. When he found none he straightened up and smiled a big smile and clapped me on my shoulder.
"Good, that's what I want to here, now come on before the women inside kill me." He said laughing and couldn't help but laugh as we found Avery and her mom listening in.
