It had been a month by now and George well, not doing very well would have been an understatement. As much as he wanted to open up to John, his mind prevented him . He was working as much as he could, skipping classes to put in extra shifts, skipping his breaks at lunch to get every extra penny he could, when he wasn't working he couldn't relax which meant no sleep, no sleep meant his mind was going more delirious than ever. He didn't dare tell John this and tried his best every time Paul tried to tell John, he hated seeing George like this, he hadn't seen him this bad since last year, Paul could tell George wasn't clean at the moment, he always could tell when George self inflicted himself.
John wasn't doing the best either, George was his baby, he craved George to the point where he would pretend George was with him just so he wouldn't go insane. John was failing his classes, not putting any focus in what so ever. Ringo felt for the lad, he really knew how hard long distance relationships were.
There was one bit of happiness that came to George today, okay a lot of happiness but he just didn't have the energy to show it, he finally earned enough money to go over to visit John. He stared at his laptop screen that showed his flight and hotel arrangements had been booked, if he didn't put all those extra shifts in then he wouldn't be able to afford it for at least another two months. He took a picture of the screen and sent it to John, he couldn't help but smile a little but then let out a sigh. George's appearance had changed a lot during that month, constantly looking exhausted, lost weight (which he didn't think was possible) and scars he layed upon himself, it was to cope though, if he didn't do these things he didn't know where he would be.
John was in class at the moment so he knew he wouldn't get a response straight away. George felt he could finally relax a little, knowing he was going to see John again. At college Paul was walking through the hallways to leave, but Pattie following him and stopping his tracks. Paul looked at her and rolled his eyes "what Pattie?" "where's George? haven't seen him in college for a while." "what's it to you?" Paul scoffed "just wondering, knew he shouldn't have dated that guy. Long distance relationships never work out" "it's working just fine." "hmm sure, i give it a month before George breaks it off" "you wish" "look at him Paul, he's like last year all over again and you know it! smack some sense into him before I do!" "you won't be doing anything! George is no concern of yours anymore so lay off." "you know I'm right" "I know you need to get a life Pattie" Paul snarled and walked past Pattie, making his way over to George's house, he hadn't seen George much and worried was an understatement, he knew Pattie was right in the sense of that George isn't coping.
He just really hoped for the sake of the couple they would be meeting again soon.
