Where I'm from

Iam from the cross 'round my neck from a shiny belt buckle,

I am from an American flag flying freely in the cool spring breeze,

I am from the stars above (white, dazzling it tastes like heaven)

I am from the ferns and green grass seems like yesterday I was runnin through the thin blades chasing the ball,

I am from starbursts and eye glasses,

from imaginary friends and loving parents,

from the young and the old,

from "Don't do that" and "Good job"

I'm from He who gives me faith with a book and 10 verses for encouragement,

I'm from a cottage up north and a campground in small town U.S.A.

Steak and potatoes

from the leg I broke in excitement and the finger I pinched in a three wheeler accident,

By my dresser there sits a guitar collecting dust holding the unplayed songs that describe my personality to only become memories,

Iam from these moments where in God we trust and we believe.
