Natsuki's P.O.V.

I sat down on my bed while doing homework and thinking about the day. As I said before, it was full of drama and I hated it. But, for some reason, it makes me do my work faster. Which made me finish my homework in under 4 hours. Now, that may seem like a long time, but you might think otherwise when I tell you what the homework was.

Here is what my homework was:

-5 pages of Math with 5 questions on each page and each one you had to write the algebraic formula for the question and why you used that formula.

-3 pages of questions that asks you what is the physics behind certain things (A/n: And in my case, why a riffle spins better when you're holding the neck and not the tip when doing right consecutives [I know someone out there knows what I mean by this])

-Read all 283 pages in the original version of Romeo and Juliet because I wasn't here when they started it and they're finishing the book tomorrow. Also, it's all in English.

-Know and understand all of the vocab words in one of the chapters we're reading in social studies. By the way, we have a quiz for that tomorrow.

-Write an essay about the industrial revolution in English.

 Yeah, I'm suffering here.

Anyways, as I finished my last page of homework, I heard the door to my room open. I turned my head to see my mother standing at the door smiling and holding a piece of paper.

"Hi Natsuki!" she said in a voice I immediately recognized.

"What is it that you want me to do now, mother?" I asked.

"Harsh," she said quietly," I was just going to ask you to get us some groceries!"

 I looked at her surprised.

"Wow!" I said," So there's no excuse this time?"

 "Oh,.... well,... uh."

"Oh whatever," I said while walking over to her," Just give me the list!"

My mother smiled as I grabbed the list out of her hand.

"Thanks!" she said as I walked out of the apartment.

I walked away from the apartment building and made my way to the grocery store, which was about a mile away. Once I got there, I bought the groceries that my mother asked for. As I was shopping, I noticed this weird guy eyeing me. He didn't look like a pervert, that's not why he looked weird. And no, it's not the guy from the bookstore. He actually looked more natural than him.

No, this guy had a black hoodie with light brown fur surrounding the edges, black pants, black shoes, and a black suitcase. Now, I might have just ignore him if that was all that he had on, but it's not. He also had on a black cat mask. It had a few red claw marks over white eyes and red ears.

Why are people here so weird?

As I payed for the groceries and walked out the door, I noticed that the guy was following me. I thought it was a coincidence at first, but after a while, noticed that he was actually following me. After a few minutes, I started getting annoyed with him. So I took the nearest turn that went into an alleyway. Once I did, I started running and making every turn possible. Once I started doing so, I could hear someone else running behind me. This immediately told me that this guy was definitely trying to follow me, and it was probably to find where my home was.

After many turns, I started to slow down. I didn't hear anymore footsteps, plus everything was extremely quiet. Actually, it started getting more uncomfortable than reassuring. After a few minutes of catching my breath, I started looking around. I had no idea where I was, and I definitely wasn't going back the way I came, so I decided to figure out how to get home. That is, until I heard the sound of someone firing a gun. I turned my head about 90 degrees before I felt a sharp pain run through my arm. I looked down and almost gasped. My arm now had a gash that came from the bullet, or, at least that's where I think it came from. Blood was now pouring down my arm and up to my finger tips, creating streams of blood behind it.

I heard laughing coming from behind me, causing me to look away and up at who it was. When I saw who it was, I wasn't really surprised. It was the guy who was following me, and he had a gun. Great. He was still laughing, and it honestly sounded like he was having fun while being evil at the same time.

"Oh would you look at that!" he said with amusement in his voice," The rat gets paralyzed from one bullet! This will be much easier than I thought!"

He started laughing as I looked at him curiously. He seemed happy, in fact, he seemed extremely happy. But why did he call me a rat? Was it a nickname that he had for his targets? I think this because I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time he's done this.

Once the guy stopped laughing, he started examining me.

"Although," he said," You definitely don't look scared. In fact, you look a little confident!"

He started walking towards me as I stood there, trying to show no sign of fear. Yes, I was afraid. But that would make this more fun than it already is for this guy. As he got closer, he continued talking.

"But you're still no different than the other rats!" he said while getting closer," You're definitely quicker! But still too easy!"

After a few seconds, the man was right in front of me. He lifted his gun up and pointed it under my head, lifting it slightly.

"Still," he said," You're just the bait, so I shouldn't have expected it to last long."

The man placed his finger on the trigger and pulled it back slightly.

"It was fun while it lasted!" he said.

I closed my eyes as he pulled the trigger back. A loud bang could be heard as I waited for the pain, but it never came. I found that weird, and very fortunate for me. But that wasn't the only thing that was weird. What was also weird was that I'm pretty sure I'm no longer touching the ground. And I'm also pretty sure that there is something squishy surrounding my waist.

I opened my eyes and looked around. I was now a few meters away from the man and he seemed mad. I was also behind a kid with spiky, very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very gotta love ctrl v very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very light blue hair. He was wearing a red tank top, grey pants, black boots, and a fuzzy, cream white scarf.

For some reason, something looked weird about what I was seeing. I don't know what it is. could be the fact that I'm still holding the groceries, or the fact that I'm not dead.

Or the fact that this kid has tentacles coming from his head which is what's probably holding me in the air.
