Asano's P.O.V.
I could feel my body falling as I was consumed in darkness. It felt like I was in an endless void, and I was the only thing in it. I don't even remember how I got here or how long I've been here. I just remember the pain and a knife.
After what seemed like forever, my body landed on a cold floor. I sat up immediately and looked around to see where I was. All I saw was a wooden flooring that surrounded me. But after a few minutes, the room I was in appeared, and suddenly I remembered what happened.
I was in Natsuki and Sakura's apartment and I was sitting where I fell before falling unconscious. But for some reason, the area looks different. Everything has a tint of blue in it and a weird light was coming from Natsuki's room.
I stood up slowly as my eyes focused on Natsuki's room. Why was her room glowing? I didn't have a single clue why, so I just tried to walk towards it, or, at least I tried. But as soon as I took a step up, my legs started burning with pain. I paused for a few seconds, trying to get the burning pain to go away. But when I realized that it wasn't going to leave, I tried to ignore it and walk towards the doorway.
When I got to the doorway, I felt what seemed like a cold, mild wind was trying to pull me in. I planted my feet into the ground as I studied the light carefully. But no matter how many times I looked inside, I couldn't find the source of the light.
Suddenly, the light started to reveal a figure standing in the center of the doorway. It looked like a child, but I wasn't 100% sure. That is until the color in its body appeared. It was a child, a little girl to be specific. She had short messy blue hair and dull blue eyes. The child stepped forward and looked up at me, no emotions showing in her eyes.
"Excuse me," the child said in a familiar voice," Who are you?"
The sound of her voice sent a warm feeling through my body as I almost smiled. This girl must have been the younger version of Natsuki. I mean, it made sense. The blue hair, eyes, and voice matched almost perfectly.
"How'd you get here!" the little girl said while panicking a little," No one from the outside world should be in her!"
The girl started flapping her arms around while running around in a panic. I just looked at her while sweat dropping at her actions. After a few minutes, the girl stopped panicking and stood in front of me.
"Seriously! How did you get in here?" she asked suspiciously.
"Uh," I said while backing up," I don't know."
The girl continued looking at me suspiciously until she sighed and turned around. She grabbed a random book from out of nowhere and started reading it, mumbling a few of the words as she did. After a few minutes, the girl turned back around and hid the book in her dress.
"Ah! Gakushuu Asano is your name! Correct?" the girl said while pointing at me.
I looked at her surprised while slowly nodding my head.
"Ah! Good!" the girl said," You're friends with Natsuki! So I can trust you!"
"Hm?" I said confused while observing her," Aren't you the younger version of her?"
"No!" the girl said annoyed before looking a little confused," I mean, kind of. It's very complicated okay!"
"Uh," I said.
"And it's not like you'll understand any of it," the girl said," It's extremely illogical from a human's point of view."
I sweatdropped while she started rambling on about how illogical it got and how annoying it could be because of that. After a few minutes, she finally stopped herself and shook her head."Aw what am I doing," she said to herself," Now isn't the time to do this Sayori."
Sayori?
"You have a job to do," she said before looking back at me," Forget everything you just heard."
I look at her with a surprised expression. What is it that she doesn't want someone to remember? There wasn't much you could get out of that at all. The only thing I could think of is her name, Sayori.
Wait.
Natsuki mentioned that name before. I think it was when she nearly got ran over by that car. The name Sayori came up when she was talking to herself on the way to her place. And if that's true, then those two are somehow connected.
A smirk made it's way onto my face as I thought about this. I could easily find that connection through this girl. Using this info as blackmail is probably the best way.
"Oh?" I said, causing the girl to look at me in confusion," Is there something you want to hide?"
"Well of course," Sayori said," We're always hiding something."
We?
"Hmm, you know it would be a shame if this information got out to the public," I said, causing her eyes to widened," but I'll be happy to hide it, if you tell me what you're hiding."
Sayori stood there for a moment with wide eyes. My smirk grew, thinking that it work. I needed to get this information. It would be really difficult to understand Natsuki's suffering without this info, or at least I believe so. And if I'm able to understand her, I hope then I'd be able to save her from this.
Suddenly, Sayori started to burst out into laughter. I looked at her in confusion as she hugged her stomach. After a few minutes, she stopped laughing.
"You really think that will work?" she asked," Life isn't that easy kid. And it seems you're going to learn that the hard way pretty soon."
My eyes widened as she whipped a tear away. Sayori then opened another random book and started flipping through it.
"Well you're about to go flat line anyways" she said," So I guess I'll show you a few things."My eyes widened in horror as she closed the book and faced me. She had a smirk on her face as she got in a jumping position.
"Well mister Asano," she said," It's about time you learned how scarring the curse really was."She then launched herself at me and pushed me back. I yelped in surprise as a blue light surrounded the two of us. My body start feeling heavy and my sight became black. The girl's body disappeared, and then soon all feeling in my body followed. And sooner I felt nothing
Nothing but a cold emptiness.
