"Thomas can we go home today? I miss everybody. I know they come see me all the time but it isn't the same."
I complain and pout. He laughs
"You're cute when you complain."
I narrow my eyes at him and throw the Kleenex box at his head when he turns around to sit in his chair positioned beside my bed.
"Hey!"
He yells.
"Bullseye."
I smile and he smiles back.
"Doctor Grey should be back any minutes with your latest blood results, ultrasound scans and X-rays."
Thomas says and I roll my eyes.
"It's taking her bloody forever!"
I say grumpily. Thomas laughs.
"Well she does have a lot of results to check over."
I frown and a tear falls down my cheek.
"Please don't remind me."
I say quietly and he looks up from his phone.
"Awe baby I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up the memories. I wasn't even paying attention, I was just stating to obvious. I'm sorry."
He sits beside me and holds me to him.
"It's okay Thomas. I just have nightmares about it."
I admit and he looks me in the eyes.
"And you haven't told me this why?"
He asks and I frown.
"Because I know you'll feel guilty and blame yourself."
Thomas frowns and sighs.
"I know but still. Next time tell me please. I want to be able to help you and for that I need to know what is happening."
I nod and kiss his nose.
"Okay. I promise."
He smiles at me and kisses my tummy.
"Thomas I'm hungry. Can you go get me some food before I go crazy? Please?"
I ask as nicely as a hormonal, craving pregnant lady with twins can ask. He smiles and nods his head.
"Okay. I'll be right back. Hold tight."
He says and leaves the room. About two minutes after Thomas left, Doctor Grey walks in with a frown and my heart stops.
"What's wrong doc?"
I ask as she looks around the room for Thomas.
"I think we should wait till your fiancee is back."
I frown.
"He should be back soon. Just tell me...is it really bad? I need to prepare myself."
I say and she sighs, relenting.
"It isn't the worst thing that can possibly happen but it isn't the best either."
She says. I frown and go to ask another question but she stops me.
"Amelia we need to wait for Thomas. Please stop asking me questions."
I relent and lay back in the bed with my eyes closed and my head back. Doctor Grey sits on the end of my bed and reads my chart. As she's probably thinking on how to tell Thomas an I, Thomas walks into the room. Thomas looks from me to the doctor and his smile falls.
"What's wrong?"
He asks and I frown as Doctor Grey says
"Thomas, why don't you sit down and ill tell you both."
Thomas nods, places the food down and sits beside me on the bed. Doctor Grey takes a breath and says
"Your babies are suffering blunt trauma from the fall."
My breathing stops as tears cloud my vision.
"Trauma? what does that do to them?"
I ask I a haze. Doctor Grey nods.
"It will most likely cause them to come early, and maybe cause complications the the birth but that's why I want to keep you here till you deliver. So that we can make sure everything is okay."
I wipe a tear away as Thomas is also trying not to break down and bawl his ass of with me.
"Okay"
I softly squeak out. Thomas holds me close to him as Doctor Grey says for me to lie on my back for the ultrasound. As she's fishing with the ultrasound some nurses bring in a portable X-ray machine. Tears escape my shut eye lids.
"It's okay they're just making sure everything is okay. nothing to be worried about"
I whisper to my self as Thomas kisses the top of my head. They take a few shots from all possible angles as Thomas is forced to wait outside the room and let me endure this by myself due to the radiation. He did put up a fight though.
"Alright all done. I will go talk to my colleagues and bosses and come back with answers as soon as I can."
Doctor Grey smiles and leaves the room just as Thomas walks in. As soon as our eyes meet I break down.
"I can't....I can't take this!"
I cry as I'm slowly dying inside. Thomas rushes to my side and sits behind me, holding me securely in his arms with me laying against his chest.
"I can't Thomas I really really can't."
I whisper and he starts to rock me back and forth, side to side.
"Shhhhh. Lo se bebe lo se (I know baby I know)."
My eyes start to close as my body becomes really heavy. Wishing seconds I'm asleep, half crying still.

I wake up to Doctor Grey talking lowly with Thomas. He still hasn't moved from his position behind me. I yawn and do a little stretch then look up at Doctor Grey and Thomas so they can catch me up. Doctor Grey sighs.
"So there's good news and bad news."
She says and Thomas grunts.
"Okay"
Is all I manage to make out.
"The good news is that there is no life threatening conditions to be worried about for you Amelia."
She says and I narrow my eyes.
"I don't care about me! What's wrong with my babies?"
I ask and she looks down.
"They are in bad positions right now and are very close to your cervix. Meaning that you will go into labour sooner rather than later and it will be difficult to say the least."
I close my eyes to steady my breathing.
"Is there anything else?"
I ask. She nods as I look up at her.
"Since we don't know exactly when they are coming anymore and and how difficult it will be on you and the babies we need you to stay here for the duration of your pregnancy."
