Inspiration comes from very different places, I got this from sitting in a car on my way to see War Horse.

"Y/N, my mother wouldn't understand-"

"Then make her understand! I don't care what'll happen to me if she find out about us, we'll have each other. That's enough isn't it?"

We don't need anything or anyone

"Of course it is," Sirius sighed running a hand through his hair, "But you could get hurt, I can't deal with that."

Y/N took a step closer to him and gently rested her hand on his shoulder, "We don't need her approval to be happy. What was it you said when we got together?"

"We don't need anyone but each other to decide our relationship."

"Sirius..." Y/N said gently, barley above a whisper, "I need to know how you feel."

If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, if it ever came down to it, would you choose to stay with me like we promised? Or leave me to protect me?"

A deafening silence fell across the room the two were occupying, neither one said a word. The only noticeable sound was their breathing and the only movement was the steady rise and fall of their chests.

I don't quite know how to say how I feel

"I-I don't know Y/N, I love you. You know that."

"You didn't answer my question Sirius: Would you stay or would you leave?"

Sirius' hand moved up and grabbed the one that the girl had been resting on his shoulder, "I would do anything to protect you because I love you."

Those three words are said too much, they're not enough

Y/N sighed and pulled her hand back, "That's not enough, please. I want to know."

"Of course I'd want to stay with you but... Your safety comes above anything."

"We both know that's not the answer I want." Y/N mumbled

"I know I know, but you have to realise that I'm not gonna lay down with you if you could get hurt. Or worse killed."

Forget what we're told before we get too old. Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Sirius turned around to face the H/C haired girl, staring deeply into her eyes. "We both know what waits for us when we leave Hogwarts this year. There's a war going on Y/N, I don't want to lose you."

"Then take me with you. Don't leave me to protect me, show me somewhere where we can protect one another without losing each other." She pleaded

Let's waste time, chasing cars around, our heads. I need your grace, to remind me, to find my own

"Y/N..."

Y/N sighed, "We don't need to have this conversation right now. Let's savour these moments before they could suffer with the fate of the war."
