Cossete Yaslee's POV

Kinabukasan, I woke up early para dumiretso sa library. I needed to research about my powers—Kung meron ba talaga, o wala. O kung meron, paano ko ito mapapalabas.

I had to find out as soon as possible because next semester, all our activities would be practical training. They would shape us based sa power na meron kami, and we would be the ones to choose which teachers could help us.

Pero wala naman akong nararamdaman na kakaiba. And I hadn't done anything that I could say proved I had powers like the others.

"Hays... I'll just come back na lang siguro ulit bukas." sabi ko nang maubos na ang oras ko. Super bilis naman kasi ng oras!

My first class today was... math!! Yes, even in this world, I still wasn't safe from math. It was our first time meeting our teacher because he had just returned from a mission to search for the missing princess of the empire. But, kilala ko siya! I saw him sa welcoming party ng freshmen's. The oranged teacher who was with Sir Kumamoto. The one who has the power like light, or thunder? I don't know his powers but, I know he's strong.

So he's our math teacher... Professor Lucian Legrand.

Nginitian ko kaagad sila Dannica nang magtama ang paningin namin. I quickly sat in my seat and listened properly.

There was no difference between our math and their math. I guess math is really math. Sigh.

Tahimik akong nakikinig at gaya ng eneexpect ko, sumasakit na ang ulo ko.

Their way of solving was far so difficult. There was so much bringing down to do. Kailan pa sila matatapos niyan? The board would already be filled up by a single, simple math problem lang. Mas okay pa yung formula sa mundo namin eh. Mas madali.

"You idiots, solve this. And after that you may leave." sabi ni Sir after giving us fifty problems to solve! Grabe...

Many students complained about what he said, but there was nothing they could do except complain. I can use naman siguro yung formula na napag aralan ko sa mundo namin, mas kokonti kasi yun eh.

Tama yun na lang gamitin ko.

"Eh?! Sir, I've only solved five!" I heard James complain. Even me, madami pang hindi nasasagutan.

"Are you complaining, Anaxagoras?"

"N-no, Sir!"

Ang next subject naman namin ay ang research! Alchemical research—na si Headmistress muli ang subject teacher.

Since sampu lang kami sa class, the headmistress paired us up. Our seatmates became our partners, and since Maximillian was sitting next to me, he was my partner in making the potion. I just hope I won't be a burden to him. He might freeze me alive with his power if nabwiset siya sa akin.

"You are to create a full potion by following this formula. Any group that fails will be prepared to face hell." the headmistress smiled, then let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Timer starts now."

Tss... These leaves are so high-maintenance! Baka nga it's oregano lang sa amin eh tsaka luya.

"Here." napatingin ako kay Maximillian nang iabot niya sa akin ang lalagyan ng potion. Nang abutin ko naman yun ay bumuntong hininga siya ng mahaba. "Just follow me if you don't know how to make it."

"Alam ko ah!" tahimik na sigaw ko at napailing-iling lang siya at bumuntong hininga ulit na para bang disappointed siya.

Maya-maya pa, Sir Legrand suddenly entered the room, hingal na hingal as though he had run a great distance. He scanned the area as if searching for someone, and then nung magtama ang paningin namin he immediately turned toward the headmistress and whispered something to her. In response, the headmistress adjusted her glasses with a serious expression.

"Everyone, I will be leaving you for a moment." sabi niya. "Remember this. If you do anything I find displeasing, I will still know. By the time I return, you must be finished." with that, the two of them hurried out of the room.

Is there another attack? I thought naglagay na sila ng panibagong defensive barrier.

"I saw Professor Legrand look in your direction. Perhaps you did something wrong." nagsalubong ang kilay ko sa sinabi ni Maximillian. May galit ba 'to sa akin?

"Wala akong ginagawa ah."

"I said perhaps you did." he replied.

I was about to respond pa when a loud explosion suddenly echoed sa buong room.

"Ugh! Look at what you've done, penguin! Why did I have to end up paired with you!" nag echo ang malakas na boses ni Lianna sa buong room. When I looked over, both she and Icia were covered in soot, mukhang uling ang itsura nilang dalawa ni Icia. Nagpipigil tuloy ako ng tawa habang naghahalo at patingin-tingin sa kanila. Ano bang ginagawa nila? It looks like they're enjoying themselves. Nakakainggit. Itong kasama ko napakalamig.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Mukha kang tustadong isda! Bagay sayo!" rinig kong halakhak ni Icia ng malakas.

"Ah ganon?" I heard Lianna said irritably as she summoned water from her hand. Akala namin lulunurin na niya si Icia but instead, she calmly washed herself and also dried herself moments later using her powers.

"Hoy! L-linisan mo din ako!" kanda utal na pakiusap ni Icia sa kanya. Mas lalo akong natawa dahil sa itsura niya habang nakikiusap.

Kamukha na niya yung moon sa calendar.

"Ayoko."

"S-sige na"

"No way."

"Hindi ka ba naaawa sa akin??"

"Hindi."

"Dali!"

Bakit pa kasi sila nagsamang dalawa eh? Dapat itong si Icia na lang at itong pinsan niya. And then me and Lianna... Hays.

Professor Lucian's POV

Tch. They barely answered anything. And most of what they wrote was incorrect. I have no intention of passing them in my subject.

I felt deeply disappointed as I checked the papers of Class 1-A. I refuse to let others say that they belong to the highest section when their scores do not justify it. Worse, my own teaching would certainly be questioned.

Anaxagoras—zero.

I rubbed my temples and flipped the paper over. The next one, however, had many correct answers, but...

This formula...

I gasp.

"Professor Luther!" I shouted in a panic as I burst into the vice principal's office, who also served as the academy's doctor. "Professor, you must see this." I handed him the paper, which he read immediately. His eyes also widened in shock.

"This is... answered by a true genius!"
