As hunter leaned down, I put my arms around his neck pulling him closer. Feeling his hands hold tight around my hips, I looked into his eyes with pity.
"So I guess we should get to know each other then." He whispered. Right before your lips touched, a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Amber, what's wrong?" Hunter asked backing up at little to look at my whole face. I could tell he was deeply concerned about me.
"I can't, Hunter, I just can't." I sad quietly. As I leaned my head on his chest. He picked my chin up and looked me right in the eyes.
"Amber, you can tell me."
"No it's to much."
"Please?"
"Um...ok. Well, it all starts with my parents. I'm adopted and they don't care much for me. Then, my ex boyfriend..." I whimpered as I started to cry just thinking about him.
"His name was Zach. Him and I were crazy about each other, or so I thought, and when we started dating, I didn't realize I was just another toy to him. At the time, I had just turned 15 and he was 16. We started moving really fast in our relationship." I sobbed.
"We started dating after only knowing each other for about 3-4 days. He took me places, showed me things, it was amazing. Well, long story short, he wanted...sex. I rejected him and he just said, 'Ok fine, you were moving to slow for me anyways.' He left me shattered and with nothing."
"Oh my God, Amber, I know what your thinking and I'm not like that at all. I know I am moving fast, but I just don't want someone else to take you." he said as he picked me up and walked over to a large rock. As he sat down, he simply sat me on his lap.
"Hunter, back at the school you said that I meant the world to you. That's not possible, you barely know me, how could I possibly mean that much to you already, and don't say love at first sight because that's bull!" I said as I stood up from his lap and sat next to him.
"Amber, it's not just a joke. I really like you, and I know from your point of view it seems like everything is to fast and that love at first sight is shit because of what happen with Zach, but you need to understand not all guys are like that." He said sternly.
"I just don't want to go through it again, that's all Hunter. I like you a lot too, but it's only been 4 days since we have met and having you say that I meant the world to you already kinda throws me off. Look can we at least do things the right way before anything, including kisses, please?" He looked at me with a look of surrender and pity on his face.
"Yes, we will do things the right way." He smiled at me gently and just put his arm around my shoulder. I leaned my head on his shoulder and realized we were out here for a pretty long time.
"What time is it?"
"12:13."
"Lunch." I said and right at that moment my stomach rumbled.
"Well, looks like are we are going on our first date. Come on." As I looked up at his face, I had practically forgotten that he had gotten into a fight. He already had a black eye and I just completely forgot about it.
"Yeah, I guess your right. Well you can take me out for lunch, but I'm driving."
"On one condition little missy, you drive at the speed limit, I don't feel like getting pulled over and into trouble." Hunter said as he whipped a tear away that was still sliding down my face.
"Ok, deal." I kissed him on the cheek lightly and I could tell that he tensed up a bit, but then it quickly faded leaving a soft smile on his face.
