Ian's POV

Damn, this ring box was REALLY hurting my leg. I groaned and shifted in pain as we drove. "Everything alright?" Anthony asked, concerned.

"Yeah," I fidgeted. "Just uncomfortable."

He laughed a bit. "We're almost there."

When we pulled into the parking lot, Anthony looked at me in my eyes, which shone in the dark, and squeezed my hand. Then, he released, and got out of the car. He hurried over to my side and opened my door for me.

I blushed and laughed a bit. "You didn't have to do that." I told him.

He shrugged. "I'm a gentleman."

I laughed. "We're BOTH gentlemen," I said as I opened the restaurant door for him.

The hostess eyed us up and down, but gave us our reserved table. It was decently sized, with two chairs, a candle, and a rose in the middle. There were two different sized forks, two knives, and two spoons. I moved my empty salad plate aside and took a sip of my water. It was all so overwhelming for me. It was much fancier than I was used to, and even Anthony seemed a bit nervous. He leaned on his left hand and looked at me, softly smiling. "You're very handsome, you know that?"

I blushed and looked down at my shoes. Then, I looked back up at him and smiled. "You're the most attractive man I've seen." Then I shifted a bit. "The only man I've ever loved."

Anthony was about to speak but the waitress cut him off as she asked for our orders. After she left, I looked back at Anthony. "You were going to say something?"

"Oh, yeah." He smiled and looked at me in the eyes. "You know, kissing you for the first time brought something out in me. I've never felt that way with Kalel or any other girl I've been with. I just can't believe it was over a shared piece of bacon." He laughed.

I laughed too. "There was no other opportunity like that one." I told him.

Soon after that, our food came. We ate it without another word, although Anthony and I kept sneaking glances at eachother the entire time we ate. Soon after, we were both stuffed and all we had to do was pay.

I needed another minute to plan my proposal out... Just another minute.

Just then, Anthony looked deep into my eyes. "Ian Hecox, I've known you ever since I can remember and I feel like you just get me, you know? You're the one who's been there with me through the worst times in life. You truly understand me and I know you'll never leave me." Anthony took a deep breath and got down on one knee. "Will you marry me?"

I was shocked. I put my hands over my mouth. I could feel tears rush down my cheeks. The happy kind. Without saying a word, I reached into my pocket pulled out my ringbox. I opened it and showed it to Anthony. "Anthony Padilla, I love you. Of course I'll marry you."

He gasped too and teared up. We put the rings on each other's fingers. We were both obviously relieved that they fit perfectly. We paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant. We linked hands and before getting into the car, I pulled Anthony into a long kiss. I put my hands on his face and put more passion into the kiss. Eventually, we got into the car and made out a while longer. Then, he started the car and we drove home while holding hands.

When we entered the house, Anthony signaled for me to change. I put on some comfortable pajamas and saw Anthony also wearing pajamas on the couch. I curled up with him on the couch while we gave eachother lots of kisses full of love and lust. We fell asleep, cuddled together on the couch.

I was Anthony's and he was mine. Everything about this felt so right, especially the lovely rings we each wore on our ring fingers. It was a brand almost, but it was one of love. And I could have never been prouder to be gay, to be in love with my best friend.
