At the end of the day I gave Levi my address and told him to go ahead and head over to my house. I went and picked up Vincent and then drove over myself.

I pulled into my driveway and saw a sleek black car which I'm guessing was Levi's. He was sitting on the front porch. "Is that your boyfriend?!" Vincent asked from the backseat. I felt a little blush creep onto my cheeks.

"No, Vincent, he's just a friend." I told him. "He's here to work on a school project."

"He looks scary." Vincent said. I giggled.

"He's always like that. Now let's go." I said. We got out and walked up to the house. "Hey, Levi. Sorry if I took too long." I said.

"It's fine." He answered and looked down to Vincent.

"Hi, I'm Vincent!" Vincent said and stuck out his little hand to Levi. Levi looked at it for a moment before gently shaking it.

"Levi." He said.

"Okay, let's go in." I said and unlocked the door. Vincent ran into the kitchen to get a snack. Seriously, sometimes that kid is a bottomless pit. "Would you like something to eat, Levi?" I asked him. "We have ice cream... chips... fruit..."

"Fruits fine." He said. I went and got out a bowl and put a bunch of mixed fruit in there.

"We can work in the living room if that's okay." I said.

"Fine by me." He said and I led him in there. We sat by the coffee table and I got out my notes. "So, who do you want to do our paper on?" I asked.

"Jefferson?" He suggested.

"Sure." I agreed. "We can take turns doing the research and the citing. If you want I can start on the research-"

"Hey I'm home!" My mom came through the door. My dad came through, too, which was odd that they were both done with work at the same time.

"You're home early, mom." I said.

"Yep, we finished up earlier than expected." She said.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Vincent came bounding down the stairs.

"Hey, sweetie." My mom said and picked him up, kissing him on the cheek. Levi and I turned our attention back to our project but they soon noticed us. Or noticed him. "Oh, hello." My mom smiled at him. Please don't embarrass me, please don't embarrass me, please don't- "Are you Rose's boyfriend?" She asked. I mentally face-palmed. Of course.

"No, ma'am. We're just friends." Levi said. My dad was eyeing him. "I'm Levi."

"Well it's nice to meet you, Levi." My mom smiled at him. "Would you like to stay for dinner?"

"I don't want to be a bother-" He started to say.

"Nonsense! You're welcome here anytime." My mom said. "Come on, Vincent, do you want to help mommy with dinner?"

"Yeah!" He responded and they went into the kitchen, my dad slowly following behind, giving one last glance at us. He was a good guy, just a bit protective.

"You don't have to stay if you don't want to." I told Levi.

"It's okay." He said. "I'm sure it'll be fine with my uncle."

"Well only if you're sure." I smiled at him and we went back to project.

Time skip

For the next couple of hours we worked on our project and then some other homework until dinner was ready. Levi said it was fine with his uncle, Kenny. He informed me that his mother had died when he was little and he never knew his dad. I said I was sorry to hear that but he said it was fine.

We ended up having spaghetti. Levi and I were sitting on one side of the rectangular table with my parents across from us. Vincent was on one of the other sides.

"So, Levi." My dad started. Oh no. "Have you lived here all your life?"

"Yes, sir." Levi answered.

"What about your parents?" My dad asked.

"I think so." He said. "My mom died when I was younger and I never knew my dad. My uncle came in from out of state and that's who I live with."

"I'm really sorry to hear that." My mom said with a concerned voice.

"It's okay, ma'am." Levi said. "I don't mind it."

"Well you are welcome over here anytime." My mom smiled at him. He gave a smile back. It was tiny, but it was still there. "I'm just glad that Rose is finding good friends at Titan High. She was really nervous about it."

"Mooom." I whined.

"What? I'm just telling the truth." My mom giggled. Ughhh.

"Well I can assure you that your daughter is getting along fine with several people." Levi said. I slightly blushed.

"Well I'm glad." My mom smiled.

The rest of dinner went well and soon after Levi said that he had to go back home. I walked him out to his car.

"Thanks for coming over, Levi." I told him.

"No problem." He said. "It was fun."

"Sorry about all the questions during dinner." I nervously giggled.

"It's okay. They were just excited about you making friends." He said. "Well I better get going. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay, see you tomorrow." I replied and he opened his car door.

"Bye, Levi!" Vincent yelled out the door, waving his little arm.

"Bye, brat." Levi responded and I playfully hit him on the arm. "Sorry, sorry." He faintly chuckled. "See you tomorrow." He climbed into the car and drove off. I waved at his retreating car and then walked back inside.

"I really like Levi." Vincent said.

"He's a good guy." I replied. He gasped.

"Do you have a crush on him?!" He asked excitingly.

"No, Vincent, I don't." I said, ruffling his hair. "Now I think it's time you go to bed."

"Fine." He said and started to go up the stairs, but not before turning back to me. "But I think you should." He said and ran up the stairs. I shook my head and giggled, a light blush on my cheeks.

Maybe.
