5:53 PM

I had just finished getting ready for what seemed like an absolute horrifying idea the closer I got to 6.

Though I had no reason to feel bad whatsoever, especially hearing that Kye had been seen with a mystery girl and yes, I may of blown it out of proportion and it may be his cousin or something but it still hurt to think it might not be.

Either way, I felt bad for what I was about to do for various reasons. Taylor being the first, considering I am new to the heart break scene and I'm still not sure whether I'm over us yet. Another reason, definitely the biggest reason is that Carson is Kye's best friend, surely this is just wrong. Plus, if it wasn't for Kye texting me on Carson's phone I wouldn't be in this situation right now. I mean, I don't actually know Carson.

I'm not even sure if this is breaking the 'bro-code' considering me and Kye are just friends. Which brings me onto why I shouldn't feel bad. What is the harm in this? I'm going out to experience New York with a newly friend. This friend does happen to be the guy that I'm sort of into's best friend but that should only make him happier if anything, I'm getting to know his friends. Right?

I quickly took a last look at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a white turtleneck paired with some jeans and black leather boots. I picked up my coat as I quickly sprayed my perfume once more, my phone buzzing finally.

1 NEW MESSAGE (Carson):
Outside. You want me to come up or you good?

I quickly replied a quick "Good." as I stepped outside and locked up. I made my way down on the elevator as I reached the bottom floor.

I walked over to the entrance door and stepped out as I saw a red Ford Mustang parked outside. The door opened and out came Carson, dressed in a black buttoned up shirt paired with some black jeans. You know what they say, darkness is danger.

"Nice ride."

A chuckle escaped his lips as he beamed a smile at me and the car. "You ready to go explore?"

I smiled as I threw him an amused stare, stepping closer to him. "Thanks for the invitation today. Where are we going?"

"You'll see. Come on, time is precious," He offered his hand, guiding me towards the door of the passengers seat as he opened it for me to slip in. He shut it behind me and walked over to his side, stepping in as he buckled himself up and looked over at me.

"You look lovely, by the way." I felt my cheeks reddening slightly as I shuffled in my seat, my cheeks rising up. Kye wasn't lying when he said Carson has a certain affect on people.

"Thank you. And you, you look good with your shirt buttoned up." I giggled, remembering Carson at the bar as he swayed his way around, his shirt half way open exposing a gold coin chain.

He leaned his palm against his face, laughing as he remembered himself. "I do have a thing with first impressions." He grinned, as he started up the car. I felt myself relax as the radio turned on. Chanel by YT and GUNNA filled my ears.

"I hope you don't mind no Kye. I promise I'm a whole lot of fun." He chuckled.

"I wasn't expecting Kye. The invite was from only you after all, right? Come on, time is precious." I smiled at him as I copied what he had said earlier. He shook his head lazily, smirking to himself as we drove away from the flat block and headed down towards the sunset.

The first place we stopped at was quite simply the beautiful Metropolitan Museum of Art. My face fell into awe as I looked over at the building as Carson parked up.

"I know this is a little bit of a stretch, and I promise the whole night won't be like this. It's quite the typical sight-seeing sort of place here, but, it's worth the visit." The engine was turned off at this point as he opened his door. I copied his action as I stepped out, still in complete amazement as I softly furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"Wait- what's that expression about? Do you not like Art? I should've asked,-"

"No, no! This is incredible, I've had it down to visit this place since I got here. It's just- a little pricey and I'm running on my own cash here, my part-time job doesn't exactly help. Plus, don't you need a booking?"

He titled his head as he looked at me from his side of the car. "You really think I'd make you pay? I asked you out to show you New York, and so you could forget that rough night of yours. I get photos done here so I can vouch for how beautiful it is. Plus, I want to show you what this city is all about. No gloom, all beauty. Plus, bookings sorted. Carson's got this, babe." He stuck his tongue out as he began to laugh and nodded towards the entrance, waiting for me to walk over to him.

"I owe you one." I gave up eventually and walked over with a little smile pushing its way up on my face. He muttered a sarcastic "whatever" jokingly as he placed his hand on my lower back, making our way up towards the doors.

We had finished up in the museum, followed with the best sushi bar in the city and then a nice walk around Central park.

Carson decided that the best way to show me the real NYC, apart from visiting all the great attractions as we had already was to pay a visit to the doughnut project downtown, to, quoting him; "Eat too many delicious treats."

After picking up our donuts, we headed back towards the car which was now parked up with a great view of the bright lights of the city. We sat deep in conversation as the music from the radio quietly played in the background as we enjoyed the sweetness of the food.

"This buttermilk donut is the BEST thing I've eaten in so long." Carson broke the comfortable silence we had been left in as he took a bite of his donut, moaning and leaning his head back. I giggled, him readjusting himself.

"Here, try some." He guided his donut towards my mouth as I took a small bite, gently chewing as I thumbed him up. I did the same with my vanilla frosted, him mimicking my actions but instead leaning towards me as he took a bite; two sprinkles stuck to the corner of his lips. I evidently not thinking wiped them off, widening my eyes only slightly as I looked down.

An embarrassed laugh made its way out as I excused my actions, about to carry on eating the rest of my donut as Carson quickly stopped me. He planted a soft kiss exactly where Kye had previously, on my cheek.

I looked up as he leaned back into his seat and smiled at me, whilst taking the final bite of his donut and turning the radio up slightly more as we began talking again, laughter rising above the volume.
