Chapter 25

3 months later
Ring ring
"Time to get up babe" Caitlin said as she turned off the alarm clock and climbed out of bed.
"5 more minutes" he grumbled turning over.
"I will let you get in the shower with me" she said seductively from the bathroom doorway.
"I'm up!" He said as he shot up in bed.
"Too late" she said from the other side of the bathroom door.
Barry groned as he got out of bed and walked into the kitchen to begin making breakfast.

10 minutes later

Caitlin got out of the shower brushed her teeth, brushed her hair and washed her face. She walked into her bedroom to find that Barry had gotten up, she searched her wardrobe for something nice to wear. She picked out a black dress and black shoes but when she tried to zip the dress up the zipper kept getting stuck.
"Hey babe?" She called to Barry.
"Yeah what's up Cait" he smiled walking into the bedroom.
"My zippers stuck can you help me please?" she asked kindly.
"Yeah" Barry smiled as she turned around.
"Hey Cait?"
"Yeah bare?"
"The zippers not stuck"
"Then what's wrong with it?" She asked getting mad.
"It won't go up because of your belly" he laughed.
"Barry it's not funny this means that we need to go shopping for clothes that will actually fit over my bump" she said as she began to laugh with Barry.
"Do I really have to go shopping with you?" He asked when they both stopped laughing.
"Yes" she said.
"Noooo!" Barry groaned.
"Stop it bare now go get ready for work" she said smiling.
"Yes ma'am" he said kissing her cheek and heading to the bathroom to have a shower.

At star labs

"No we need to make the suit fire proof!" Cisco yelled at Harry.
"We don't need to make it fireproof!" Harry yelled back.
"Guys what are you fighting about now!" Caitlin said angrily as she walked into the cortex with her hand interlocked with Barry's.
"First off what are you wearing?" Cisco said.
"Yeah what happend you usually wear a dress to work" Harry added.
"It was the only thing that would fit over my bump" Caitlin said frustratedly motioning towards her Jean, flats and an over sized t-shirt combo.
"Good morning my dear" professor stein said cheerfully walking out of the med bay.
"Good morning Martin" Caitlin said hugging him.
"I can see that your bump is beginning to show a lot now that means you baby is developing perfectly" he smiled holding each of her hands.
"Yes now I only wish the other babies would develop" she said motioning her head towards Cisco and Harry.
"But you never know when Barry would need a fire proof suit" he said.
"Cisco I don't need to be fire proof I need to be meta proof" he smiled.
"I will get working" Cisco said as he began walking off towards his lab.

*Ring ring*

"Meta alert" Caitlin said taking a seat at the desk as she began working.
"Really the moment that I want to work on the suit the alert has to go off!" Cisco said ranting.
"The meta has heat powers, he is burning up bare he could go nuclear any minute" Caitlin said worriedly.
"I promise to be safe" Barry said suting up.
"No bare you won't be able to stop him in time without me he will go nuclear"Caitlin said.
"Fine but you must be careful" Barry said.
"I will I promise" Caitlin said placing a kiss to Barry cheek and then running to put on her outfit.

Middle of central city

"Burn!" The Meta said as he blasted a building.
"Hey hot head" Barry called towards the meta.
"Flash" the meta said as he blasted him with fire but he quickly dodged.
"Hey hot stuff I would like it if the flash stayed alive please" Caitlin said then she blasted him with ice, but he was too strong he blasted fire at Caitlin and she flew across the floor.
"Frost!" Barry called as he ran up to the meta and placed cuffs on him.
"I was just getting started" the meta said. Barry punched him in the face and took him into the pipeline, then he ran back for Caitlin.
"I told you to be careful!" He yelled at her.
"I was careful until he blasted me!" She yelled as she turned back into Caitlin "you were the one who was supposed to protect me!" She yelled.
"I can't always be there to protect you, you need to learn how to protect yourself!" He yelled louder.
"And I will but when we're out there you need to watch out for me and I will do the same for you!" She yelled louder matching his tone.
"I'm sorry Cait but what if I lost you or the baby I wouldn't be able to live with myself" he said tears welling up in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Barry I promise I will be more careful" she said giving him a hug.
"Was that your guy's first couple fight?" Cisco asked.
"Yes it is Cisco" Barry admitted.
"You to are adorable" Cisco squealed.
"How about a pregnancy scan to see how the baby is?" Stein suggested.
"That would be lovely thank you stein" Caitlin smiled at her farther figure.
"No problem my dear" he said walking off to set up the equipment.

1 hour later

"And that's why we would survive in a zombie apocalypse" Cisco said ending his speech about zombies that Caitlin wasn't really listening to, she was busy staring at Barry with his shirt off running on the treadmill.
"At least now we know how the baby got here" he whispered."OW!" he yelled as Caitlin stomped on his foot. "I was just saying" Cisco complained.
"Well you need to stop...." Caitlin said as she climbed out of her chair.
"Caitlin are you ok?" Cisco asked.
"AHHHHH" Caitlin screamed in pain clutching her stomache.
"What's going on?" Stein asked walking into the cortex.
"Yeah what's going on?" Harry asked as he and Carla followed into the cortex.
"Something's wrong I think it's the baby" Caitlin as she attempted to walk to the large med bay.
"Cait are you ok?" Barry said putting his shirt back on and running over to her.
"No bare it's the baby" she said as tears began streaming down her face.
"Its gonna be ok Cait" he said holding her in his arms and slowly walking her to the larger med bay.
"Please help me, I don't want to loose my baby" she said as stein began running tests on her.
"I promise I won't let you lose your baby" stein said as he began running around frantic unsure of the baby's condition.
"Quick if we don't get the baby out of her soon we could loose her to" stein said as he gave Caitlin a morphine mask. Stein grabbed a scaple and cut into Caitlin's stomache. Once the hole was big enough he reached inside of her stomache and grabbed her baby. The baby wasn't breathing and it was ice cold...
Stein laid the baby down and placed a blanket over it as to not cause Barry and Caitlin any discomfort. He stiched Caitlin up and waited for her to wake up.

1 hour later

Caitlins eyes fluttered open.
"What...what happened?" She asked as she looked around the room at her friends and family.
"When you transformed into KC the baby began to freeze and....and..." Barry said as he began to cry. "I'm so sorry Cait I let you and the baby down" he cried more. Caitlin didn't know what to do. She didn't cry she didn't weep she didn't hug Barry. She turned over in the bed and faced the wall. And she just lay there. Frozen.
