Unexpected Love

Chapter 54

Caitlin woke up. She missed Barry liying next to her. She lay on her back and looked up at her ceiling. She hadn't slept since she had taken the pregnancy test. The results haunted her. She huffed and threw back her quilt. She got out of bed and headed downstairs. She poured herself a glass of milk and began to drink it when her farther appeared from upstairs.
"Hey sweetie, can't sleep?" Harry asked as he grabbed the milk from the fridge and Caitlin passed him a glass of the drainer next to her.
"I haven't slept since...well you know" she said pausing mid sentence.
"Yeah well I'm sure it would be hard to sleep when your creating a human and your separated from your...baby daddy?" Harry said unsure of what to call Barry.
"It is, I miss him so much dad" Caitlin admitted crying.
"I know sweetie" Harry said holding her tightly.
"I just wish he could hold me and tell me it will be ok" she cried.
"Well it looks like you just have an old man like me to hold you" he smiled at her making her smile "but I can't promise that everything will be ok, it is up for you to decide" Harry said.
"Thanks dad" Caitlin smiled as she gave him one last hug.
"Goodnight sweetie" Harry said as she placed her cup in the sink.
"Night dad" she smiled as she placed a kiss to his cheek, she left the kitchen and began walking upstairs when she stopped and went back down to the kitchen.
"Thanks dad" she smiled at him again before she finally climbed upstairs and went to sleep.

Caitlin woke up to her alarm going off. Her talk with harry helped her to feel better. She switched off her alarm, and turned to her side and smiled. She decided that today is the day she was going to tell Barry that she is pregnant. Caitlin climbed out of bed and headed to her on-suite bathroom. She showered, brushed her teeth and got dressed. She couldn't stop beaming. Once she was dressed for the day she headed downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning sweetie" Harry smiled as she placed a kiss to his cheek and sat next to him at the table.
"Good morning sweetheart" her mother smiled as she placed her plate of breakfast Infront of her.
"Good morning and thanks for the breakfast mom" Caitlin smiled.
"Well someone seems chipper today" Carla noticed. Harry and Caitlin shared a glance.
"Yes well I just had a good night's sleep" Caitlin smiled.
"Good, you need too when your growing a human" Carla said as she joined them at the table "if you don't mind me asking Caitlin sweetheart how far along are you?" Carla asked.
"Well it was when you bought the nightlight for Natalie...so...about 3 weeks" Caitlin said thinking back to that night, making her blush slightly.
"Well...it looks like that came in handy" Carla whispered to herself.
"I guess it did" Caitlin whispered to herself and smiled as she placed her plate in the dishwasher.
