Chapter 22: Shining Hope

Kyle: "What's this light?"

Anti-Aegis: "(shocked) What kind of program is that?!"

William: "Bio-Link Z!"

Tori: "Bio-Link Z? What is it? An upgrade of Bio-Link?"

Anti-Aegis releases the code as it flies towards them.

Anti-Aegis: "Walker just had to ruin our fun."

Andrea: "Swipe your ID Cards in the Bio-Link slot as fat as possible!"

They begin to swipe the cards.

Micheal: "Let's hit them with everything guys!"

ID Gloves: "Bio-Link Z initiated."

They all become enveloped in eight different colors of light.

Everyone: "LET'S GO!!!!!!!!"

The lights merge as they blast into the sky.

Anti-Aegis: "Flashy."

The merged light slams back into the ground, revealing a being with eyes of eight different colors, aspects of both male and female, muscular, long multi-colored hair, and lastly one fist made out of eight gemstones, and the other producing eight different substances.

???: "We are..."

Anti-Aegis: "You honestly think having all of you become a bigger target makes things easier for you?"

Shining Hope: "... Shining Hope."

Shining Hope assumes a fighting stance.

Shining Hope: "We are bonded by a common goal. You have hundreds who refuse your ideals."

Anti-Aegis: "You can't win."

Anti-Aegis appears where Shining Hope was.

Anti-Aegis: "Huh?"

A punch from he back sends Anti-Aegis into the air.

Shining Hope: "You let cockiness get the better of you."

Shining Hope appears on top of Anti-Aegis.

Shining Hope: "You should've taken us out at the beginning."

As Shining Hope punches with the substance fist, the faces of the Knights of Hope flash in front of Anti-Aegis.

Anti-Aegis: "(in pain) Did we honestly let emotion get the better of us?"

Players begin appearing out of the blue light.

Shining Hope: "We won't falter."

The moment Anti-Aegis crashes to the ground, Shining Hope stands right beside the crash.

Shining Hope: "Fade into the code."

Shining Hope picks up Anti-Aegis with the substance hand.

Anti_Aegis: "(in pain) Must... change... to-"

Shining Hope punches with the gemstone hand and the faces of Shining Star flash before them again.

Shining Hope: "You've lost."

Anti-Aegis begins to fade.

Anti-Aegis: "(in pain) N-No!"

Shining Hope separates.

Anti-Aegis: "(in pain) You brats are going down with us!"

In an act of desperation, Anti-Aegis separates and hits Shining Hope with every ounce of strength left.

Serena: "(dazed) We need to-"

The blast makes contact, making the injuries everyone had worse.

Austin: "We won't disappear."

Austin fades.

Aegis: "(pissed) You're all going to feel my wrath!"

Aegis fades as the last few Players exit, but Shining Hope is unconscious.

Walker: "(panicking) We did it, but I need to pull them out!"

Walker forcefully logs out everyone as they appear in the scanner room next door.

Walker: "Caleb, I need you to contact the hospitals all across Caile!"

Caleb: "O-Okay..."

Caleb begins to dial up a storm.

Walker: "(in head) But what if what those two said id true?"

Within ten minutes, paramedics begin to storm the scanner room.

Paramedic 1: "These kids just have a habit of ending up like this."

Paramedic 2: "They better have enough to keep up this bill."

The paramedics begin to hurry downstairs with the sixteen in tow.

Caleb: "(tearing up) Please be okay..."

Walker puts his hand on Caleb's head.

Walker: "Everyone will be okay. They've actually been through worse."

Caleb hugs his dog tighter.

Caleb: "(mumbling) Do you believe Echoes?"
