Chapter 19: The Teardrop Eyes

Two weeks later...

Risa: "I'm ready."

Risa and William are already logged in and have been grinding a few levels so Rank 8 won't kill them easily.

William: "They're on their way."'

They see the others log in a half hour later.

Asaka: "We're going against the eighth one today."

They are all given a crap ton of healing items.

Risa: "We won't lose anyone this time."

Michael: "(determined) We can count on each other!"

Serena: "Well let's go!"

They begin to head to the edge of the world.

Andrea: "The edge appears to be where Rank 8 is."

Emily: "(nervous) Is this going to be a kraken or something like that?"

Roy: "Probably."

They arrive at the edge two hours later.

Edo: "Get your weapons guys."

Massive waves start crashing against the shore.

Emily: "It's a kraken."

A giant octopus looking creature with dozens of human eyes rises from the ocean.

Micheal: "Hell spawn."

Zack: "Well the sooner we beat it, the sooner we don't have to look at it!"

Everyone draws their weapons as a tentacle slams onto the ground, sending everyone back a little.

Andrea: "Well my guess is that it's weak point is a random eye!"

The eyes begin to open and close at random.

Edo: "Well crap."

They begin to hit the thing with ranged attack and barely leaving scratches on HP.

Serena: "The eyes must be the weakness because we're doing jack shit!"

The eyes close just before attacks make contact.

Anthony: "We can't hit them fast enough!"

Risa holds out the hand with her ID Glove.

Risa: "Then we just need to hit harder!"

Isabel: "You really just want to Bio-Link as much as possible."

The beast hits Zack in the chest, dealing a ton of damage.

Zack: "(in pain) Yeah we might have to Isabel."

Another attack cuts William's HP in two.

Asaka: "We need to."

Anthony and Edo had just managed to land two bullets into an eye, lowering it to 7/8 HP.

Anthony: "Here we go!"

The Bio-Links activate.

Andrea/ Serena: "Let's just hope we can hit this thing."

The two dash up a tentacle and stabs the side of the head, dealing triple damage.

Andrea/ Serena: "Better than nothing."

William and Emily create a strong enough tornado that spins the thing fast enough to where it has become dizzy.

William/ Emily: "Hurry up! The eyes are open!"

Micheal and Zack stab one eye right in the middle, Asaka and Risa punch another eye like there is no tomorrow, Isabel and Roy slice an eye in half, and finally Anthony and Edo blast a fourth eye to smithereens.

Anthony/ Edo: "Let's finish it before the Bio-Link wears off and it's dizziness!"

William and Emily have a strong gale form in their hand.

William/ Serena: "Bluster Nuke!"

They toss the gale as it rips the eyes of the beast to pieces as the Bio-Link wears off.

Roy: "That's... pretty brutal."

When the carnage settles down, almost everyone becomes two Lv's away from max Lv while Serena and Risa become Lv41.

Serena: "That was amazing William!"

Serena once again gets eerily close to William.

Anthony: "And no one game overed this time!"

Everyone stares at Anthony.

Anthony: "And I jinxed it."

They log out.

Emily: "Yeah you did."

They step outside.

Micheal: "Well let's go against Rank 9 ASAP."

Zack: "I'll give the word."

They all head home or go shopping for the day. Forever scarred with those eyes...
