3 soft knocks were placed upon the wooden front door of my house. I quickly fluffed up my hair, rubbed the invisible dust off my shoulders, placed a mint in my mouth and flattened out my clothes. Doesn't every girl do this before a boy they may possibly like is standing on the other side of the door.
Me and Lucas arranged for him to come over to my place so we could study for the algebra test that was on the last day of school. I mean seriously who does that, wait I can answer that. My crazy opera singing math teacher. Yes, she breaks out in Opera occasionally in the middle of class.
Anyway, I open the door to see an angel like figure. Wow it has just been an hour since I have last seen him, but I swear he must have got a fraction more hot in that time space. His chocolate brown hair messed up like he has run his fingers through it a few too many times. But I ain't complaining the look suits him.
His electric blue eyes staring straight into mine and showing his perfect million dollar smile that could make someone faint. Which I feel like I'm about to.
He isn't wearing the school uniform anymore, but instead wearing jeans that are the perfect size and a plain blue T-shirt that looks amazing with his eyes. I just realized I was staring and I blush, quickly turning away embarrassed.
It probably would have been less awkward if I just walked up to him and said. "I don't have a library card, but would you mind if I check you out." Actually no, that would have just been social suicide.
"Lori, you ok there?" He said.
I turn around blow my hair out of my face. I smile sheepishly and rest my hand on the doorway but remove it as I would have looked stupid. "Yeah, never been better."
He nods and looks around the front porch and taps his hands against his knees. "So, are you going to let me in, or are we going to study out here."
'Oh, right." I laugh. 'Yeah, come right in."
I back away from the door frame to allow him acsess to enter.
It's only been a week since I first talked to him for the first time, but I must admit I really like him. I better not stuff this up I think to myself. What ever happens just don't eat Tuna.
Have I ever mentioned that when I get nervous I eat tuna. But the bad sides are it makes you breath smell and in my case makes me gassy. Oh god.
"So..." He starts.
"So..." I say back while smiling nervously. You know what, this is a bad idea I think to myself but my thoughts were quickly interrupted.
"Do you want me to get my books and then we could study in..." He looks around the room and points his finger in all directions.
"Yeah we can head in the living room, cause my dad probably won't like it if we study in my room." I start to laugh a little. But he just gives me a weird look, not understanding my comment.
Awkward much. "Well I'm just going to sit down over there and um yeah..." He starts walking over towards the couch and neatly places his books on the small table in front.
I quickly join him and we study for about half a hour, practicing things like expansion and simplifying as well as substitution which is just a whole lot of mixed up letters and numbers which make no sense to me.
I must admit Lucas is a bit of a math whizz, getting every single question correct no matter how hard and then there's me. Yeah let's not go there.
We decide to take a break and watch some TV, we do some channel surfing until we land on the one and only Spongebob Squarepants which makes Lucas laugh like a little kid (in a cute way) when something funny occurs.
