Lillian's POV
Wow, I could literally see the hate on Andrew's face after the comment my husband had made. My face faltered for a second before returning to my perfected smile, as if I didn't hear it.
Blake had made worse comments over the years, so this one had only a small effect on me.
"If you'd excuse me, Onya and I are going to go mingle with other people." Andrew stated, his voice strong, yet managed an air of mannerism. I smiled at him, my young son, growing handsomer and handsomer, more like him every day.
"Go, have fun," I responded and turned back to my husbands side, he was talking to some man on his board of accountants. Smoothing down my dress I kissed his cheek farewell and walked outside on the terrace to get some fresh air, these people were suffocating me.
By the time I was outside, a bead of sweat ran down my arm. Looking over the railing, and down to the beach I could see my son and Onya running along the beach, their shrieks of laughter being drowned out from the band that played classical music inside. I couldn't help but chuckle at their youngness. They had so much left to learn, and it was obvious to see that Andrew was becoming more adventurous the older he got.
God, that man was the most amazing man in the world, to this day.
"Niall.." I whispered faintly, leaning against the railing and staring down at the sand below me. I watched the first few tears fall from my eyes and straight down, escaping into the darkness. Taking a deep breath, I easily wiped the wetness off my cheeks, being careful not to smudge my makeup along with it.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Carter," A waitress appeared from between the curtains that covered the doorway. Sillouted figures danced along it's soft, almost see-through fabric. I turned her way and smiled lightly at the young girl. Her figured looked a lot like the one I had when I was her age. Ah, how I missed being in my twenties, "Yes?" I asked quizzically.
"There's a man here to see you, but he isn't on the invite list. He demands to see you, but if you'd like, we can have security escort him off the property." She said, looking over me, a faint drop of fear shimmering in her eyes. God, I wasn't that scary, I just had a lot of power.
"No, that isn't necessary, I'll come see who it is. You know, I'm a very busy lady, I probably forgot to add a name to the list." The girl laughed and together we walked through the party and to the main hallway, where not a soul was in sight.
"I sat him down in the sitting room, he's right through the door." I nodded and smiled in her direction, watching her wander back to her job at the party. Shaking my head, I prepared myself for a colleague of Blake's that I didn't know, but forgot to put on the invite list. Shaking my head, I turned the knob and entered the room.
I froze, dead in my tracks. No, this can't be. I never thought I'd see the day this man sat in my house.
"Harry?"
"Wow, you're still fit, even after all these years, Lillian."
