[three ; the fake friend]

MYUNG HEE BRINGS HER FRIEND to the back of school to discuss matters about yesterday's incident. she was a little guilty from running away as hei ryung went through the dirt but what was really dragging her conscience down was the fact that hyunjin could potentially find out and that would ruin any chances of getting together with him.

she wanted hyunjin and just the thought of spending a whole month trying to get his attention was hard enough as it was, she couldn't risk losing him. "please don't tell anyone about um.. yesterday." she mutters, avoiding hei ryung's gaze.
"is that the first thing on your mind? what about an apology or asking me if i was okay?" hei ryung scoffs in disbelief towards myung hee's selfish act.
"i-i'm sorry about you getting hurt and i'm sorry for ditching you. it was hard for me too though, i had to go home to meet curfew so i could hang out with you again. did you think i wanted to leave you?"
"what if i died? gotten kidnapped? i would've never gotten to hang out with you anyways." she snapped back, furious for her friend to make up such an excuse.

a tear falls down myung hee's face and she falls to her knees in a kneeling position, "i'm so sorry for leaving you, please forgive me, i was just scared and i didn't know what i was doing, i-" she pleads and hei ryung was guilt ridden, contorting her facial features to express her shock and discomfort.
"what are you doing? stop, don't beg me, it's fine." she helps myung hee up from her knees, suddenly sympathetic towards her friend.
"i-it's my fault for getting myself hurt, i shouldn't have confronted them." she paused in hopes myung hee would disagree but instead the female stood in silence, sulking. she let out a sigh, not knowing whether her best friend was really her bestie in the beginning.

"don't worry, i promise i won't tell anyone, it won't do me any good anyways." she mumbled and myung hee wipes away her tears.
"thank you, you really are the sweetest. want me to buy you some ice cream later? it'll make you feel better!" judging from her reaction, hei ryung confirmed to herself that myung hee rather much care about her reputation being stained than her own best friend. she wasn't feeling any better and she wondered whether myung hee deserved the title of being called her best friend.

by the end of the day, hei ryung managed to pick up on rumours that spread throughout her year saying;
"apparently hei ryung almost died, she was getting beaten to death by a whole gang."
"i heard she was saved from someone in our year."
"did you know her own best friend was there and ran away? how horrible is that?"
if you could even call them rumours.

the last comment struck a nerve within her and she asked where they had heard the rumours from,
"hyunjin told us. he said he knew the person who saved you but he couldn't tell us who. is it true though? did myung hee ditch you?" the girl in her math class asked and she recalled her deal with myung hee,
"no she didn't, she's not..cruel." she said in between gritted teeth.

the conversation died down and she ran off to find hyunjin, hoping he hadn't shared anything else related to last night. she didn't want to remain a conversation piece between her peers nor did she want a misunderstanding to occur between myung hee. she was tired to deal with drama and tired to have to explain herself when it wasn't her fault.

speaking of the devil, myung hee pops out of nowhere and blocks her pathway. "i thought you promised me you wouldn't tell anyone, why are people calling me a bitch?"
"i swear i never-"
"forget the ice cream. you're a liar and i hate whores." she screams to her face and runs off.
"w-what? i didn't even-" she doesn't bother finishing her sentence and heaves out an annoyed sigh. just the very thing she didn't want to happen had occurred and she was getting stressed.

"you feelin' alright?" a hand was placed on her shoulder and her ears perk up to the sound of the familiar voice. she turns to face them.
"oh minho-"
"if you frown too much you'll get wrinkles." he smiles and moves his hand from her shoulder to her forehead, his fingers feigning over her scowl. she pushes away his hand, even more annoyed.
"you're not helping minho."
he shrugs it off, "what happened? things didn't go your way?" he responds casually.
"forget it, you don't need to know."

he nods and figures her cold attitude towards him was from the rumours that had spread throughout the year. his lips pursed in a thin line, "fine. how're your injuries? they still hurt?"
she doesn't reply. her head lowers slightly feeling ashamed that her spirits had automatically lifted a little from his questions that she'd been wanting to hear all day. it just had to be him she thought.
"do you want to hang out for awhile? i know a place you can rest and it's not the nurse's office."
he reassures her and without realising, she agrees. he pulls her by her wrist, a smile reaching his ears as he takes her to the exit of school.
