[thirteen ; the reason]

"I KNOW MYUNG HEE isn't the greatest person but why were you so..cold?" hei ryung pulled minho back as she grabbed his shoulder. she just couldn't understand his bipolar behaviour and she was sure he wasn't like this with anyone before. maybe she was being nosy but she needed an answer.

"forget it. i just don't like her." he blew her off, turning around so his back faces her. she spins him around once again,
"what? why? you can t-"
"i said i don't like her!" he snapped, he was fused with rage and anger as he hit back her arm. "stop asking me." she flinched in reaction to his voice booming in the empty car park as she rubbed her forearm (where he had hit) in awkwardness. hei ryung couldn't meet his eyes and guilt struck him.

he let out a sigh and held her hands in comfort, trying to calm himself and lessen her fear of seeing him so loathsome, "look, i'm sorry for shouting, i just- i just don't want to talk about her."
her eyes widened and her hands raised in front of her whilst nodding left to right, quite violently as she disapproves of his actions, "no no, don't apologise, you didn't do anything wrong. i should be saying sorry, for forcing an answer out of you."

a smile appears on his lips and he looks down to the ground in content, his heart skipped a beat as he realised just how gentle and innocent she was. "um i-it's fine. don't beat yourself up over it." he stammers and she gives him a gleeful grin and chuckles.
"of course not minho, it's not a big deal."

he doesn't reply and avoids her gaze causing a frown to fall on her face. his thoughts wonder back to myung hee and he grits his teeth, beads of sweat forming above his brows. she notices his fists clenching and his eyes looking rather sunken than bright, "a-are you really okay?"
he doesn't answer at first. he didn't know how to respond. questions lingered inside him and he felt like suffocating with the mere flashback of myung hee. "i haven't told anyone, what makes hei ryung different?" he thought to himself as he looks up in her onyx brown eyes, the sincerity and integrity unveiled from his vision. there was just something about hei ryung that made him feel safe and secure.

"it is a big deal. everything about myung hee makes me sick."
"minho-"
"i'll tell you what she did to me and why our relationship wasn't worth saving." hei ryung doesn't look away from his gaze and patiently listens as he talks, "we were like all couples were, snuggling, hugging and holding hands. it was perfect-" his eyes darkened and he hesitates before continuing, "until one day, i came over her house for movie night and we occupied her bed for our movie marathons. it took us around 3 am before we both fell asleep in each others embrace. i woke up to free space on the bed and the sound of a clicking noise. myung hee was no longer next to me but instead dressed in a robe and handcuffed one of my arms to the bedpost."

hei ryung could already guess what was going to happen next and she instinctively held onto minho's hand for support. he gave her a weak smile.
"i was scared to death while she moved by my side to stroke my chest and my body, a smirk plastered on her face. i pushed her off, immediately getting off the bed. my arm was still restrained to the furniture but i knew i had to leave." his grip tightened around her hand and she inched closer to minho, patting his back, "she tried took off her robe too, only in her underwear and bra but before she could make a move, i noticed the key under her pillow and ran off, ending our relationship also." he lowered his head, the distasteful remnants of his foul memories with myung hee left a traumatic and aggressive after effect, scarring him in the process.

hei ryung saw her 'friend' differently.

letting go of his hand she reaches in for a hug, her head buried in his chest as she clasps her hands together around his back. his eyes bulges open in shock, his heart beating more rapidly than usual and his voice hitched in his throat. his body relaxes and he closes his eyes. warmth cascaded both teens as he returns the hug, his head leaning onto her shoulder. he manages a muffled statement, "this was what i want." his breath leaves tingles on her neck, sending shivers throughout her body.

"what happened between you and minho?" he asks cautiously, curious as to why minho was acting so irrationally angry.
"now you wanna talk?" myung hee scoffs as she fidgets with her nails. the two youths took it upon themselves to sit at the park bench in the middle of the night, the pitch black skies in contrast to the small amount of stars was just enough for hyunjin to make out her face.

"i don't want to talk about it so don't bother." she crosses her arms and he hums a response. he figured she'd keep quiet, what was he expecting? she reaches for his hand and holds it, "can you take me home, it's getting late."
he nods his head and they take a cab home.
