Surprisingly, Roxy was the one to lead the way down the stairs. But instead of going towards the front door, she took them through a door to the side of the stairs. Thankfully they didn't bump into anyone on the way and Roxy led them to the back of the building. She must have been scouting the place while she was there, it worked because soon they were outside.

A small junkyard took up most of the space but it hid them well and they used it as cover to make their way around the building. The fighting and shouting was getting louder and a second later, Florence got a glimpse of the chaos. People were filling the streets, fighting and causing damage to any object in sight. They'd all seen this before- the Onslaught had begun to infect Linhollow.

Roxy steered the group away from the building and the fighting, leading them instead towards a much smaller, more in-tact building. The doors were open and Florence was astonished to see a variety of different vehicles just sitting inside. Some were so exquisite Florence knew this gang couldn't be the rightful owners. Roxy moved between the stolen vehicles, stopping at a particularly nice one that looked like it could hold all of them.

The only problem was it didn't have any wheels, Florence turned to Roxy and raised a brow.

"We can't take this one, it's broken."

Roxy shook her head and gestured with her head towards the vehicle.

She was persistent but Florence was confused how they were supposed to go anywhere.

Florence propped Quentin against another vehicle and stared down at Roxy, "I can't drive a wheel-less vehicle. Tell me what you want me to do."

Roxy looked up enigmatically and meowed, she ran off to the back of the building and returned a moment later with something dangling from her mouth. Florence was confused to see it was a set of keys, she couldn't understand what Roxy wanted.

A sudden gun shot rang out from the direction of the fighting. There was no time to dither, Florence had to trust her cats judgement just as she always had and she unlocked the vehicle. To her surprise, a whirring sound stirred beneath it and she gasped when it lifted two feet into the air. It hovered there steadily and the lights inside turned on, the vehicle was apparently working just as it should be. She stared in wonder for a split second then shuffled to get Quentin and helped him very carefully into the passenger seat.

The cats however, wouldn't get in at first, they were each keeping an eye on the doors to the building. They meowed at Florence when she tried to get them in, they shook their heads and stayed on guard. Florence stowed her bag and got into the driver seat, jamming the keys into the ignition just as she did with her cart. She preferred this style of driving, but she just had to hope this vehicle went as fast as the Skele-Cycle.

When she was in and ready to go, the cats finally pulled themselves away from lookout duty. They stepped gently over her and jumped into the back, getting themselves comfortable on the very expensive looking seat covers. A moment later they were speeding out of the makeshift garage, it should have been a strange experience to drive a hovering vehicle but it felt the same as any with wheels.

The thickness of the windows kept out most of the noise from the fighting but Florence saw it clearly when they rounded the main building. Florence didn't slow down to give them a chance to notice and stop her. She sped off down the main road in the opposite direction to the way she had arrived. It didn't take long to leave the town of Woodhaerst and the fighting behind.

Once they were a good distance away, Florence pulled into a side road to check on Quentin. He hadn't made a sound during the drive and she was worried about his injuries, the worst of which may not be visible. She moved around the vehicle and opened the passenger door to get a better look. He winced when she moved his head to face her then when she tried to check his abdomen, the blackened bruising there made her feel sick.
