It took a little more time than any of them would have liked, but they finally woke the woman. She screamed and panicked like she was still being attacked; Florence gently calmed her. Nathan sat on the ground beside Florence, who needed both hands to examine the woman and her wounds."I-is... is it gone?" The woman asked, trembling in her attempt to sit up.
"Yes it's gone, we were able to get you out of the tall grass before it came back and it won't venture out of there now."
Florence pressed against her shoulders to lay her back down and tended to her wounds. She had a gash in her leg that was being infected by the poison and cuts from the grass where she'd been fighting back and caught herself.
"What was that thing?"
"That was a Tikal and it was about to make a meal out of you. Didn't anyone warn you not to go into tall grass in Othon without Bolsa blossoms?"
The woman shook her head, "No, they didn't... why are those creatures allowed to just, just be there like that?"
Florence arched a brow at her, "Because that's where they live, you disturbed their home. That one was hungry and you were on the menu, you basically served yourself up to it, you can't blame it really."
Florence was always surprised at the lack of empathy some people had for creatures, especially ones they didn't know anything about. She focused on the woman's injuries instead of her ignorance. Quentin passed her supplies from her bag, Skyrah on the other hand was keeping her distance. There was something about this woman, perhaps something to do with their shared home Domain that Skyrah wasn't at all happy about.
Florence treated the woman as best she could, giving her the antidote to the poison which luckily came from the Bolsa blossoms she still had.
"There, that's as much as I can do without a hospital. The gash on your leg will need tending to every few days, it may leave a small scar."
"Thank you, I am eternally grateful to you and your companions for helping me."
The woman's leg was slowly fading back to pale white and most of her cuts had stopped bleeding. She rearranged her clothes for modesty.
"Now if you're feeling better, we have some questions for you."
Skyrah finally spoke again, her expression almost a glare that she just about kept in check.
The woman seemed to sense Skyrah's hostility because she looked towards Florence when she responded.
"What would you like to know?"
Florence opened her mouth but Skyrah spoke before she could.
"Why were you out here in the first place? Where in Eracinda are you from? How did you get here and how are you getting back there?"
Every brow raised at Skyrah's tirade of questions, her steely gaze pinned on the woman.
"I was out here because I need to go to Havenlyn, to get to my boat, I want to get out of this Domain as quickly as possible." She frowned with a glance back towards the meeting they'd all just come from. "I have and will use a boat to travel. As for the second question, I come from a small village near the town of Belaza."
She eyed Skyrah when she said the town name, as did Florence and Quentin, as if she suspected Skyrah might react. She didn't.
She actually appeared calmer and nodded towards the woman. "We need to go to Eracinda, we'd like to accompany you."
